Hi Guys,

Last week we gave you a little look at our upcoming "Roman Fort" and a couple of adaptions.

This week here's a slightly different kind of a fortification from over a thousand years later.

My brother Gordon and his K&C Diorama Workshop designed and put this together for one of our "Pike & Musket" collectors...

Hope you like it and ... Enjoy!
Andy

P.S. Display measures approx. 22" X 44"

Very nice fortification. I especially like the use of the canon on naval carriages which are more suited to tight quarters than field pieces with their long trails. I guess the new canon will appear soon?

Another excellent little fort Andy, kudos to Gordon and the collector I'm sure will be one happy camper!

Nice looking 'Star Fort' and good to see some cannons with a fortress carriage on the ramparts.

I sure wouldn't want to be a gunner using the cannons with a field carriage, what a huge task in man handling them up the ramps, and you would really have to watch out for the recoil, they could end up in the courtyard after the first firing !!!!

Looking good ....

Looks great, I like the way the Two bases fit together without an obvious join.

Hi Guys,

Many thanks for the kind and appreciative comments ... and apologies to Brad (Jazzeum) ... this particular fortification is already “spoken for.”
And I agree that the recoil from the larger cannon would send them hurtling down into the courtyard ... it’s all just a wee bit of fun. Gordon was working to a certain specific size / dimension provided by the collector. The cannons themselves are not ‘fixed’ and can be easily removed and replaced with smaller artillery (similar to the guns covering the fort’s entrance.)

Best wishes and happy collecting!
Andy

Hi Andy and Gordon,
Congrats on the fortification.....It will be ideal for someone collecting late 17C - early 18C especially New World....this Vauban style fortification would be very common and ideal for a Spanish garrison ,defending some lost New World settlement, fighting off an English or Pirate attack....:salute:::salute::
Cheers

Very beautiful fort, nice colour, and so many details.

Andy, you've done a great job with accessories of late (Barbed wire coils, tank obstacles, infantry weapons, etc). Please consider rebooting ladders. You've a couple in this wonderful scene, and they tend to be era non-specific. They were in an accessory set some time ago and are as hard as hen's teeth to find now.

ATW!
Paul

Great looking stuff Andy. Gordon always does excellent work. Thanks for sharing.

For anyone wanting to whet their appetite as far as English Civil War sieges go, the siege of a fortified manor home figures prominently in the British mini-series By the Sword Divided (Season 1).

Hi Guys,

Very happy to agree with "Brother Jonathan" about the BBC series from the 1980's, "By The Sword Divided" about the English Civil War.
I watched it on Youtube during the development of our "Pike & Musket" series... and it was truly inspirational. Highly recommended.

Andy

Looks fantastic ! I think I like this one more than the Roman fort....If I had to choose between the two of them. {bravo}}
