I saw this 1969 WWII film based loosely on the SAS exploits. Michael Caine and Nigel Davenport make unlikely desert raiders in a proposed raid to blow up a fuel dump.

It is just a tiresome movie, lacking the usual Michael Caine wit and charm as seen in The Italian Job and Zulu. This botched movie was apparently abandoned by Richard Harris and the original director R Clement.

I didn't mind it for what it was, but yes it's a bit dated now, like many war movie's of that era.
