So there is a multipart documentary on Hefner and Playboy and let me tell you, it doesn't play to a favorable light. I find the timing interesting of course and the corroboration of stories is suspect on a lot so far. That said, I am under NO illusion that is was all roses, but I am finding some of the stories to border on sensational tabloid. Anytime you have one of these exposes after most of the players are dead and gone, you have to wonder how much is true, etc. Again, I am sure there are horror stories and there is a lot of truth in these stories, but I am not sure I am buying it 100%. Seems like a calculated hit job to me that plays well in the modern era of exposing anything from the past as "bad".

Just my opinion, but I am finding the entire series to border on what the internet calls "clickbait"

Should amend this to say that again, I do believe there are a lot of truths going on in this doc and sometimes they say truth is stranger than fiction, so who knows. Whatever it is, apparently it makes for good tv ratings.

I too am watching it and like you I believe some savory things happened. But my take on this is why these girls, who all seem to think they are victims, worked, stayed, etc with Hefner for years even decades. Now as they look back on their "gold digging days" they want to try and clear their conscious that some how they were duped into that life style.
I will say this about Hugh Hefner in his later years he was pathetic. I would cringe seeing him wearing that stupid admirals hat he always wore.

I ain't buying his last special girlfriends story. She was in it for the money and fame. I think she was with him for 8 years or something? C'mon man...

The doctors daughter story is a bizarre one...she grew up in the Playboy Mansion? As a kid? Whoa, that makes me want to read her book.

The servants, butlers and drivers take on their experience is pretty interesting and no doubt there were some nefarious things going on.
