C'mon guys. You're British too. Give us our bleakest and most inglorious two hours in military history. The Somme is long overdue and it deserves to be vast.

I would be very excited to see this happen as well. Loads of Tommies standing nervously in the trenches waiting to go over the top, and loads more Tommies charging/scrambling/walking into No Man's Land please.

Some 19,000 casualties on the first day alone, a slaughter and waste of the flower of Englands youth, brave lads they all were to say the least.

Courageous is too soft a word to describe them and their sacrafice.......

Yes what a great addiction to WWI range would be , i think at some men of the 36th (Ulster) going to assault with an orange sash commemorating the Battle of the Boyne or Captain Neville of East Surreys kicking a football to give the signal of attack..and in the end i'd like some british soldier with an S.R.D. jar..i bet it was never reproduced in the toy soldier world..and in WWI it was as important as the gun or the helmet..

The Problem you have here Chaps is the the Battle of the Somme was July -November 1916 .....

We are still in 1914 in the WWI Range in the King & Country World. Andy has stated that he plans to take each year of WWI - year by year with his releases and we still have more 1914 releases due in 2009.

Looks like we have a little wait before the Great Battle ! :(

Wouldn't mind 1916 era, but we still need 1914 French! -- lancer

1916 Awaits !

I know I'm asking about another manufacturer in K&C's thread but does anyone know if Old Northwest's Somme range is in line to be expanded significantly? I've seen the new Tommies set for release but thought you guys on here may know if more will be on their way.

ONTC had a bunch of WW1 protypes at OTSN, they said around Christmas for release, but you can never count on that.
If you want some excellent WW1 54mm Germans Frontline has them.
They are my favorite of all WW1 manufacturors.
