I'm hoping some of my good toy soldier brethren can help me w/ locating a display cabinet something along the lines of this nice Prism wall mounted display cabinet made by Picture Box Display cabinet co.:

http://www.pictureboxdisplaycabinets.com/80336/info.php?p=3

I inquired about purchasing some of their Prism display cabinets, but they said the price of shipping to the US would most likely make any purchase unviable. So maybe someone out there knows where to get a similar display case stateside?? I'm not looking for something with a lot of depth. Just something I could mount to the wall that has a glass door and shallow glass shelves for displaying figures only (no AFV's or dioramas). I would like to use this special case for my favorite figures.

Additionally, my wife is open to considering the idea of having the display case(s) in the living room if the cases are not too overbearing/clashy and if look nice like the ones Picture Box Display Cabinet Co. makes.

I searched on the internet and was surprised to really not find anything to my liking yet. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time and enjoy your collections!

Hi Joe,
Last year Britains had a wall cabinet for sale, approximately $285 perhaps Richard or Ken could help you.

Have you considered Barrister bookcases

The smaller ones are 10-12" deep around 12" tall by 3' wide
and you can stack as may as you want, choose glass or wood doors and
look pretty luxurious in any living room.

cheers

I agree with Alex about barrister cases, I have one, and it makes a nice display cabinet. But it stands on the floor. Have you tried Ikea and other, similar stores? Failing that, you might need to try a cabinet maker. It won't be cheap, but it would be worth it to have a nice display case made to your specifications.

The other choice is to do it yourself, if you're handy. I see hutch tops at flea markets that would easily convert to a wall-mounted display case. For me, DIY is a route I'd take, but I like to do stuff like that.

Prost!

Try looking for a shop outfitters, some perfume shops have nice mirror backed narrow cabinets that would be ideal for soldier display. Trooper

Thanks for all of your help and suggestion guys. I'm going to see if one of the Britains wall cabinets that Benjamin mentioned is available anywhere. I'm going to make a trip to Ikea this weekend as well to see what they might have as Alex and Brad suggested. I'm also going to look further into train display cases...thanks to the tip from thebritfarmer! Much appreciation for all the great ideas:smile2:. Joe

Hello, maby you have a Ikea store lock at this some times he have nice cabinets :)
greetings christopher

Hi Joe - another option for you - may be to consider some free standing China display cabinets. I have some of these - and I add in more glass shelves. Mine are about 3 feet wide by about 1 foot deep - so a footprint of about 3 square feet. They have glass doors and sides - so everything is very visible. You can also buy them with lights fitted.

Mine looks like this - and will hold around 600-700 soldiers. ( Note: I was adding shelves here - there are no empty spaces left now). johnnybach

Thank you for the suggestion Christopher. We do have an Ikea near by, and I'll be heading there very soon. I'll report back if I find anything that works for me. Thanks again

The way you have your soldiers displayed looks fantastic Johnny. Thank you for the great idea and for taking the time to post the pic. You have a huge collection there!! It looks great in the China display cabinet. I like how there are a lot of sightlines from all angles. I am going to see what I can find along these lines. Thanks again for the fantastic suggestion and for sharing the image. Very nice indeed!
