Gentlemen and Ladies,

This topic was discussed a little inside another thread so I thought I would I would bring it out on its own so others could contribute. With K&C’s release of their special WWII Polish Figure for those attending the dinner at the Chicago show, does anyone have any Intell if Andy is considering expanding the Fields of Battle line to include the Poles? Trying to see if I need to start saving my money.

I spoke to Andy a few times after the K&C dinner but never thought to ask him about Polish figures in Fields of Battle, one of my favourite ranges. Many but not all of the special/collectors club figures presage an addition to a series or a new series. A small Polish series could include the Panzer 38(t), the polish 7TP tank, and some Polish figures including one with their excellent anti-tank rifle, the forerunner of the German anti-tank rifle. There could even be a Polish armoured car and some cavalry.

I certainly would be for a Polish series. A little something different in the WW2 line.
I believe when K&C origionally did the FOB Dunkirk series it sold much better than anticipated, so maybe this would be a winner.

It's hard to know. In the past couple of years, several suggestions were made that the FoB series, which is to supposed to focus on lesser made battles in 1/30 scale, include the Battle for Poland. Andy has now indicated that he is probably done with Dunkirk so this is a possible future direction of FoB, but then again maybe not...

The polish army mantained always peculiar carachteristics that distinguished them from many nations, i think to their uniform, their particular way of saluting (with two fingers ...for the british: not as you may think!:)), the epic (it was only propaganda by the way and german one too) of the lancers charges against the german tanks.I'm really in favour of adding these figures to FOB, but i think that there's again space for french army (more colonial troops) and british troops (other scots with kilts, maybe a policeman in Service Dress yet used at the start of the war, specialist troops, an anti tank gun).As you see i really love this range!

Polish cavalry would be a superb addition to the FOB range, would love to see it...........

I like the idea of FOB gravitating to other lesser known/populare theatres of WWII. The Polish figure released at Chicago is a definite teaser. If it turns into something a think a small release of Poles and perhaps one of their vehicles would do well. It might also stimulate some more early war releases of German soldiers and their grey vehicles ( ex. Pz. II, various armoured cars, cavalry, Pz. 38t etc ).

Cheers

I would wholeheartedly endorse the addition of Poles to K&C WWII ranges. The Italians are now getting their own range and the variety of uniforms and equipments available to the Poles in 1939 would be very collectable. The Poles did alot better against the Germans than many have credited (no worse really than the rench and British some months later). Perhaps other ranges could benefit from the inclusion of Polish figures, for example RAF (Battle of Britain), 8th Army and Normandy.

Poland 1939 including cavalry would be great. Just not Polish cavalry charging German tanks - myth. Norway would be another campaign with many interesting possibilities.
