Polish lancers: Our newest release (1 Viewer)

Will there be a bugler to this set ?

I've gotten that question alot.

We had one, he was a fine fellow. Just before our squadron formed up a missile in the form of round shot took the fellows head clean off. I was there, it wasn't a pretty site. We left him were he fell, we never found him after the battle. His shattered bugle was sent back to the factory where it now rests below an acrylic case:

" rest in piece oh brave young bugler, the heavens will sound your charge anew each waking day "

:D

Ditto for me. They look phenomenal! Too bad there is no bugler since the different color of his uniform would contrast nicely with the other all-blue lancers (I know Brian already answered on the missing bugler topic but if we keep asking for him may be he will come back to life...) :)

Keep working on him. We need a bugler and he should cave if we push hard enough.;)

On a side note to Brian, your Website indicates a savings of $70+ if we order the complete set when in fact the savings is only $36.2 (535.2 - 499)...You may want to correct this.;)

But alas that thirteen pounds of pewter and lead, loveley box and peanuts and the time it takes to have Helmut collect and box up that mighty little set add another $33.80 : This being free if the whole set is ordered.

So voila , or rather : hence, the $70.00 savings.

Cheers!

Sorry, I do not understand the above.

Do you mean we are getting extra stuff in the complete box set?

If I order this from your website, do I get free shipping to Hong Kong?

You of all people deserve free shipping to Hong Kong,:) so shipping would be on us, only if you promise to have the set front and center of any display!:D

Cheers!

Question. Did Lancers fire their carbines from the saddle? Also why the left handed swordsman?

Good question on the carbine use. I could not find anything in the Osprey book I have on Polish lancers whether they were firing from their saddles. I would think this is perfectly possible in an open line but reloading may be a challenge though. I know that after 1813 only the front line of lancers was carrying a lance, the other lines had only sabres and carbines. Regarding the left handed cavalryman, I believe this does add to the set character...:)

Sounds good. The maker also has a 95th Rifleman diring left handed. Maybe...but with the flintlock it would be tough.

Great. Now that we've got that cleared up are we going to see any Scots Greys? Maybe based on Scotland For Ever by lady Butler? Any of the Greys would be good as it will allow my Polish Lancers some targets for those lances and left-handed carbines. Speaking of dioramas... and here's being hopeful, how about Ponsonby being ridden down by seven Polish Lancers? More Napoleonic!!!! Keep up the awesome work CS.
