Konrad, Howard,John, Sammy, thanks guys. I must confess I was somewhat angry yesterday at the thought of being cut right back or locked out, but having thought about it and of course my wonderful wife's advice (my god I'm a lucky chap) I will of course give this new policy a try, I will try multi quoting as Terry has suggested instead of thanking people individually on my dio threads for instance, I will also try putting more images in each Dispatches post (John, thanks for your words mate, means a lot and I will definitely keep posting Dispatches on the 1st) and will also take more days off from posting. As Ive just said on another thread, my sincere apologies to all those who've felt I've dominated too much over the years, please believe me when I say it was out of enthusiasm for the hobby and K&C in general and not an attempt to stifle others.

Hi Rob, I don't think you owe anyone an apology for your enthusiasm for toy soldiers (at least not to me) some of the better times on the forum are a good back and forth conversation we have had on different topics, so hope this new rule doesn't affect your posting, maybe not as much of it, but I really hope the new rules don't affect the posting of pictures from shows, not just London but at all shows, anyway you can do it Rob!!!!!!!!...Sammy

No problem with the show pics either mate, on show months I'll cut back so it works ok and get more pics into each post anyway.

But seriously, the reason that I object is the feeling that we “ALL” are being punished for the acts of a few; even if (the few) are doing something wrong. Makes no sense at all; they were posting messages on a public forum????? ^&confuse Isn't that the purpose?

It reminds me of grade school where the teacher says “No Talking” and two “bad boys” try to whisper back and forth. Then the teacher says, “Okay, we all will stay after school 30 min as a punishment.” (YES, I was always one of the two bad boys.)

As for me I would love to have the time to be able to post 250 times and chat with you great guys around the world; but alas, life does get in the way.

I don't think there is a technology solution to what is essentially a people problem.

Personally it's the tribalism and irrationality that has been the biggest turn off for me.

Or in basic training, where the DI punishes a squad for one boot's screw-up. Or pledging, where one pledge's sin means everyone has to eat a cat food and peanut butter sandwich. The difference in those situations is that the rest of the class, or the squad, or the pledge class, can get on the ones who pulled the punishment down on the group and get them to stop. Here, there's no such recourse available to the rest of the group.

In my opinion this new rule SUCKS!!!...And will not achieve one single thing....it will not effect me as i come nowhere near to 250 posts in 3 days. but i feel for the guys who will have thier pleasure in using the forum reduced by a rather short sighted and silly idea!!.
I really could not care less if a member makes 1 post per month, or 500 posts per month..this is a forum where we can talk about our Hobby,
exchange dreams and idea"s...help each other out...even talk to each other about other things than toy soldiers. Dogs/Wife/Football. what the heck is a forum for if we have to think beforehand, "can i afford to reply to this thread/person or not!!!!!....As i said a silly, pointless idea that will only serve to undermine a lot of the pleasure in using this forum.
