Always good to hear from a Greek collector- I think we could have used a little more tact here and just omitted the "Not interested" option- those not interested could have just not voted. I placed my vote on your website. Those who took the "not interested" option probably didn't mean anything by it. I can think of fewer things more exciting to do in a day (legally) than to sit by the fireplace and read about Leonidas and Alexander. The ancient Greeks were just EXTRAORDINARY persons and anyone who doesn't have a shelf of books dedicated to the Greeks cannot consider themselves a fan of military history.

That being said, I don't think KC should touch the Greeks. The Roman line was average at best- the big highlights were the fort and the Barbarians. The Romans just weren't "crimson" enough and poses just weren't very exciting. If KC were to do a Greek line, I just don't think, based on the Roman offering, it would do them justice.

St. Pete does some extraordinary figs but are somewhat romanticized with all the detail on the foot soldiers. Conte's figures are nice, I didn't get them just because I felt they looked like hoplite's on 'roids, but the "three dimensional" figures really set a new standard. I went with East of India's Greeks and haven't been let down at all. All three of these companies do Greeks well and KC would have some ground to cover to shorten the gap and be competitive.

Chris,
I don't think anyone was being disrespectful here.
Strategos is obviously passionate about his history, but I think people were just being honest about their opinions by saying that some of the ranges suggested would not be commercially viable.

Well Chris, I agree with your last sentiment completely but of course not with the steriod one;):D I think the Conte Greeks are overwhelming and am not concerned in the least with their more physically impressive statuture. To me, thier poses and action have not been matched. That said, as you well know, I am thrilled with the previewed EoE Romans and really look forward to those. I also like the EoE Greeks but it is not impossible to have everything you want, especially when their sizes do not easily relate;):D I would agree, it would be difficult to be competitive with those two impressive lines.

I voted for Sparta and Alexander the Great. Also woud love to see a Trojan War series.

That said, this would have to be a line of figures that would have to fit in with existing EoI and Conte sets which makes it all the more unlikely.

Specific figures from the Age of Heroes would be interesting, too. Achilles, Hector, Odysseus, Theseus...

Prosit!

If only....sigh.
Along with Combat, I've been advocating a Trojan War range for some time now. It would have everything you could want in a TS range - except for green tanks, I suppose....:D:D

Actually this idea got a much more hospitable response in the EoI forum.;):D

Yup I saw it.
I honestly don't see much chance of K&C doing it. And while Conte would do it justice, I wouldn't want to wait for the next 20 years.
EoI would also do it justice and I think they are the best bet.

Cheers

Likely true, although we are still waiting for a chance to pre-order the Romans.;) At least we have an explanation for the delay and a new target however.

Far be it for me to try to talk anyone out of this but does continued voting or participation in this poll make any sense in light of the following comment from Andy:

"2) Poll for Greek Figures
By all means go ahead with your poll however K&C has no intention of producing any Greek figures… Spartans… Evzoni… Kretans… or any others. We’ve already got a huge backlog of, I believe, other great ideas that we’re already working on… Sorry!"

Probably no point, as you suggest Brad.
Might be an idea if me and Spitfrnd transferred our discussion over to the EoI section.

Well he said "By all means go ahead with your poll", which I took as a recognition of the fact that while this started as a K&C poll, it obviously expanded beyond that. Of course, like many threads, it has its diversions but I don't care where we move it to. Maybe you could move all responses after his reply over as a new EoI thread with a referal note, isn't that something a moderator can do?

I don't think that is possible as as you would be combining two polls of different questions, etc.

most collectors prefer the King and Country World War II.
I hope that K & C release in the future a wooden fort Roman,catapults, chariots.
