Looks good to me mate, how do you plan on keeping the soldiers up right without bases?? I did remove a wounded/dead Russian from the rubble base he laid on, but with these base soldiers I'm not sure how you would go about removing them...Sammy

This would be a very simple job and would create no damage to the figures. A caveat on the word damage it would certainly cause financial damage to the future resale value if, that bothers you then don't do it and use the old method many employ to make their soldiers look ''real''!!! and cover the bases in some medium.

If you don't care and want the dio for yourself all the figures will have some form of metal mold peg which is inserted into the base. find these and manipulate them free either with very small amounts of debonder or, gentle physical manipulation can achieve what you wish.

Balancing them afterwards will be an issue unless you are using a permanent or temporary adhesive. without they would be prone to falling over. Look forward to seeing the end result

Very ill-advised to remove the bases{eek3}....Don't do it{eek3}....You can simply trace the bases on the surface of the terrain board..... use a styrofoam layer and then carve out a recessed area in the shape of each base.... then cover the styrofoam with the terrain medium you are using in your diorama such as dirt, gravel, rubble, snow etc. ......Don't ruin your FL soldiers.:salute::

thank you mitch for your suggestion i will try. im not gonna remove the bases for all of them just one or two of them.

thx mate. how did you remove the dead russian from the base?

Very carefully!!!:) actually with the dead Russian it was easy as the rubble base he's laying upon it was easy to get my pair of ordinary tweezers under and gently lift up, once I got one end loose I did the other then gently removed him from the small pins that connected him to the rubble pile, again the bases I have no idea?? good luck...Sammy

I have to disagree, Mitch, or perhaps, not disagree but add a caution. One needs to be very, very careful in such a modification. You're correct, it would be relatively simple; my thought is to use one of my finer razor saws, or a Nr. 11 blade. But one slip, and there could be some serious damage, requiring more extensive work to repair.

But yes, it would be a matter of sawing or scoring along the seam between the figure and the base, till they're separated. Then they can be fitted with pins, to attach to the dio base.

Prost!

I agree, this is the best option. The thought of cutting a perfectly good figure makes me cringe.
