GREAT!!! A post with happiness!! Very cute little pups!!

We have four rescue dogs in my immediate family.

Rob pictured above is named after the city he comes from. We actually broke him out of the animal authority where he was in a cage to be gassed which they were not supposed to be doing anymore they are supposed to inject. We got caught, I had guns pointed at me...it was quite dramatic. I almost went to jail but they let us go....I know for shame I think they did not want the news coverage ...and no, I do not do that anymore......{eek3}

His whole head on top was a ring worm and little belly full of worms. About 600 American in vet bills later he barely survived the little tike.

I have had many dogs in my day but he has become my ever present mate that goes almost everywhere I go. I take him to work; business trips; we stay at dog friendly hotels too.

Ozzie is our Standard Poodle (he is the son of my Mothers dog and Grandson of my Aunts dog, both of who are no longer with us) He is a holy terror with lots of energy, I would go so far as to say he is just spun.

Watson is our Bassett Hound, I rescued him 5 years ago this month. He came from a farm and was going to be shot as the owners said they couldn't afford to keep him any more. He is such a placid dog, little stubborn but great with kids, other dogs and he just loves cats!! He is always playing with our 3 cats and even sleeps with them.

Wouldn't be without either one of them.

Both of you thank you for your posts that gave me the only reason worth logging on right now. It was just what I needed today to see your great pups!!. I never had a Bassett Hound but I just love the way they look!!! Reminds me always of the great country show Hee Haa with Roy Clark.

We me and my wife have 4 dogs. They are all rescue dogs. However, we have a "who rescued who" debate going on with the dogs!!!!
As with you these dogs are our best of friends. They are treated better then our off spring!!....I have booted Kids out but never dogs!! I like when you say they have taught you so much about life and living as each one throughout my life has. I have had some wonderful dogs but the current baby of the pack pictured, Robby, is the best dog I have ever had. He can sense everything going on with me; sad glad ill etc. He also lets me know when to behave...or take care of things...everything!! I take him everywhere possible....and that is nearly everywhere. He is a globe traveler. We swim, hunt, hike you name it this guy does it all. He gets my lazy butt up and makes me active. Robby is half Black Lab and the other half is Pit and Chow as near as Dr.s can tell. What a combo but it worked out just right. He is so social you would not believe it....with people and all other animals.
I will be lost the day he leaves me.

As Frederick the Great said...I never met a dog I did not like!! "The more I know Men the more I like my dogs".

Just love the dog!! Reminds me of a wonderful poodle and a Portuguese water dog all in one!!!

Most people whom have never had one do not realize how smart poodles are.

Poodles certainly are clever. When I was young I trained my mothers poodle to open the back door by standing her up on her hindlegs and pressing her paw on the latch. I only had to show her this trick a few times, and from then on she was able to let herself outside to do her doggie business etc.

Sorry for the delay I just noted your response!! Great story, can you come and train mine!! Actually I would rather visit you. I have not been to your beautiful country since the 80's. A poodle was my first dog and his name was Camay. Never forget him. Bravest son of a....bgun I ever knew and smartest.

Very nice and cute girl!!:smile2:. We have little stuff toys everywhere that our dogs trash too. I have a knack for being somewhat of a star at that crane machine where you put in coins and try and grab the stuffed animal. Do you know it? Anyway, we mass such quantities during the year that the dogs have plenty. Here is a tip, the stuffing works great for cannon smoke or shot fire etc!!! My dog Robby thinks he is helping build dioramas that way.

Thanks so much for your post. I like talking about peoples great dogs more then even toy soldiers and weapons!!!
