Lets all stop and say a prayer for these people faceing these tragic wild fires in California, remember, this could be anyone of us. Mike

I second your sentiments Mike. Have just returned (yesterday) from a two week vacation in California and it is a truly beautiful part of your country with the Californians being really friendly people, everywhere we went they just wanted us to speak to them, something about our accents apparently?

Man, Toy Soldiers of San Diego has been evacuated, however, they state they are still open for business, just can't ship anything.

I send my best wishes to all involved in this unfolding tradegy.I have had a couple of holidays in California and have always found them friendly, welcoming and generous.God bless them.

FEMA is being put to the test. Hoping it all works out. Fortunately the warm spell continues to diminish. Winds dying down.

I went to school at Pepperdine and that is a beautiful area. Fires are not an uncommon event in that part of the country though. It's only when you start overbuilding in fire, flood, and hurricane areas that these types of natural events become so destructive. The coastlines of this county are a major disaster waiting to happen. There is just no way around it until the insurance companies go broke and stop providing coverage.

They'll never go broke because they find some way to weasel out of paying for losses such as with Katrina.
