Anbody care to venture the cost of this set and the number of pieces John will make available...

There are 10 figures in these photos....

If all are relaeased as a set...

figuring roughly at $30.00 each...

one is a flag bearer (usually a little more)...

has to be $300.00+...

and the stair structure...probably at $100.00-$125.00.

The entire set of what is shown in the pictures could breech $500.00 or close to it.

Randy indicated to me that the release might only be with 5 figures...

which would certainly lower the price...

I don't have any idea on that...

John has moved most of his newer releases to the 500+ numbers or more now...

but this is supposed to be a "test" piece to see if there is any interest.

Some of his diorama pieces have been unlimited (the tents, wigwams, fort sections and long houses etc...)

where before they were not (huts, cabins, canoes, blockhouses etc...)

I wonder what the cost and the production number will be?

The stair and wall would be such a simple piece to add onto if someone wanted to enlarge the structure on their own.

It would be very easy to manufacture the other half of the door portal and make a much longer and larger piece so they could have a bigger diorama.

So many decisions... Somerset has a "Gordon Khartoum" diorama similar to this one, but in gloss. It includes the entire building. This John Jenkins piece looks great and it seems like John has changed the sculpting style of his figures for this new series from what I can tell in the pictures... What to do, what to do...

Here is the website page of the Somerset sets:

The array of figures you see in your first photo will actually be broken into 4 releases. Your last photo is release 1...the wall/stair section and the figures in the photo. No mention of price was discussed when John was talking to us.

Well then...if it's just Gordon Pasha and 3 Mahdis...that should not be too expensive.

There are no flag bearers...just 4 foot soldiers so the set will probably go $200-$250...probably on the lower end I would think...maybe even under $200 if the structure is not too big.

Did John mention how many limited set editions he would make and if the stairs were going to be unlimited?

MIKE.......Nice pictures of J.JENKINS new release....Are you thinking of crossing dividing line.....they sure look tempting.............cheers

We did speak of sizing in terms of set numbers. He certainly will continue with a limit on each release but the number is one he feels will be sold out.....He seemed very concerned in having any inventory left over. On sets he feels will sell well, like standing riflemen in the firing pose (which customers seem to buy in multiples) the release number would be higher as opposed to a set like the Hunter/Gatherers which would be a lower number. He did not say where the Khartoum numbers would be as I believe he hadn't set it yet awaitng to see what the buzz is on their being announced
Not sure this helps, but thats all I know

What a stunning diorama, and yes the figures look different, even better! (I have already said this somewhere, but well, I guess this set deserves a lot of praise:D).

To help John's market research, I'll chime in: John, I will buy one of each personality set, and multiples of most of your non-personality sets.

Glad to be of help, and as though it has not been said enough, thank you for obliging the Colonial Period freaks in the room. :)
