Starting July 1st.the USPS will be charging 50-100 % increase for products coming from overseas. This is bad news for me as I get a lot of my smaller figures from other countries as they are not available in the US but it worse for the companies over there as they have a large customer base from the US.It's called the "Last Mile Charge".{eek3}{eek3}:mad::mad:

I'm confused; USPS is going to tack a surcharge onto the parcel that comes from say the united kingdom? If it's sent parcel force/royal mail, how does USPS get to assign a surcharge, that makes no sense.

George,
I don't know but I think it means USPS is going to charge back more to deliver those packages!

Thanks for the link; I really don't see those price increases as deal breakers, I have a painter in the UK who does a lot of my figures, he gives me free shipping on my orders, I order from him twice a year.

If it costs him an extra $50.00 to send me my figures, then so be it, if necessary, I'll pay the $50.00.

I wonder if carriers like UPS, DHL and FED EX will be doing the same as companies in the UK could always use them vs the post office.

Postal charges/UPS/DHL/FED EX charges are getting outrageous, used to be FED EX and DHL charges from HK to the US were about 5% of the value of the goods, ie, I as a dealer lost 5% to postage, it's now 10%, which means 10% of my discount is chewed up in international shipping.

it is what it is, a fixed cost.

The joys of retail.

Even domestic.I sent a small light box to Caiifornia Saturday and it was $14+

I can't understand how the USPS keeps raising rates yet their still far in the red.
