I'd like to announce a new partnership which is just beginning!

Many of you have seen the wonderful custom paint work that Alex Prieto can do. He is truly a master painter.

Treefrog Treasures is pleased to announce that Alex will be customizing some selected King & Country vehicles which we will offer through our web site.

The first such offering is a summer version of BBA011 - The M10 Tank Destroyer!

We now have these in stock for $150 - they can be ordered at

Very nice, Alex. Once again you've taken a great piece of K&C and somehow made it even better.:D Awesome!

Fred

Pete,

So, that Alex's masterpieces don't get lost in the shuffle, maybe he should get his own category. Also, I'm not sure he really qualifies as King and Country per se since it's a customization job.

But he's customizing KING & COUNTRY. If we give him his own category K&C collectors won't find the products.

Yes, but if you're looking specifically for his stuff you have to know where to look. Also, there's a possibility that you can cause confusion in a customer that he's buying a genuine K & C product, which it is not.

So, there are a couple of good reasons why he should have his own category.

I agree with Brad that the location of Alex's work can cause confusion among collectors who do not visit the Forum, and who are unfamiliar with who Alex is --especially foreign collectors. You should make it more clear in the item description that the tank is not a genuine set by K&C, and that it has been repainted by a collector.:)

Name his area something like "Custom Painted King & Country" Or "Customized King & Country" Or "Pimped Out King & Country" with a disclaimer.

I agree that they should be listed as a custom K&C product.

I just ordered my M10. It looks great. Alex, I hope lots sell so that you have the ability to do other models. I can't wait to get it.

For the reason gave by Brad, there should be a specific thread for that and as Alex is a true genius I will propose to entitle it "The Art of Alex" and don't worry, with a title like that, everybody will be tempted to see what it's all about.

Pierre.

Okay guys, I've tweaked the description on the website. I think it is quite obvious now that this is a CUSTOMIZATION to everyone who reads it. I still maintain it belongs in the K&C area because it IS a K&C product--it just has a new coat of paint. Judging by sales I'd say people are resoundingly pleased with Alex's latest customization. There is another one to follow shortly...stay tuned!

Oh great Queen of Toy Soldieriania:eek: , you have wisely choosen the correct path. After all, you are the queen;) I hope all is well with you and yours and that you all had a great holiday and will have a wonderful new year:) :)

I would never had bought a Winter version, but this model is absolutely enticing. Question, is there a reason for the much darker green used? I am asking ,since I would like it to somewhat fit in with the rest of my K/C U.S. stuff..........Michael

FYI - Shannon (the queen) originally thought that you meant that the item should not be listed with the other King & Country on our web site - she didn't realize you were talking about the Forum.

I'll talk to her about getting it moved to its own section ....

Hey, if she's the queen - am I the king or just the queen's lacky?

Thanks guys for the wonderful comments and those who bought them but I don't think I'm a master painter. I'm just like you guys a toy soldier collector. I don't think the repaints are better than K&C they are just alternatives. Someone might want a summer or winter version but don't want to wait, need it for a diorama, have something a little bit more limited or unique, etc. The tank is painted in Army issued olive drab and its a little lighter in person.

Alex:

I don't care what you say about yourself. You are still great in my book. Loved those re-paints(or should I say de-iced?)you did for me.

N-P

Hi Guys,

Well done Alex...great summer version of our M10. It’s always a delight and pleasure to see what a great artist can do to enhance our own work.

Keep it up! Best wishes and...happy repainting!

Andy C. Neilson

I agree with Toy Soldier Brigade Alex's section should be called PIMP my Tank!
