I brought along a suitcase and carry on stuffed with toys and clothes. Also sent 3 parcels to the hotel. Sold off all 3 parcels worth of toys and all I brought in my suitcase, and filled the suitcase with NEW toys.

12 frontline 6 fig sets of Napoleonic infantry, 2 more cannons and crews, a few old misc Britians Nap sets from 2000.

12 new Britians sinlge figs, Naps and ACW.

set of Pegasus Gladiators, set of Italeri 1815 British Lt Dragoons{ superb }

A single Conte CClub Greek for $8{ needs a tiny bit of paint touch up}

20 Barzo plastic Norman archers and xbowmen{ cherry picked!} at a buck a piece.

Last but not least an old SUPERIOR models metal 1/32 88 flak gun in kit form for $10!!!! That was $25 when I was a teenager in the mid seventies!

I wanted some new terrain pieces, more JJenkins ect but didnt want to hassle shipping it home.Barzo Castle and new Daniel Boone forts and sets will just have to wait.

Had a blast, survived and had a load of fun talking hobby with folks from everywhere, forum members or not.

Greg: Thanks for the report and I enjoyed seeing Adam and you at the show. Nice choices. John

Greg,

Great seeing you and Adam again. Nice pickups and it was very exciting for Adam to win the V1. A real thrill I'm sure.

How about bringing Madison next year. We need more girls (not to mention kids) interested in the hobby.

Regards,

First and foremost I had a great time seeng old friends and meeting more people from the Forum.

The physical haul includes;
Figarti luncheon figure
Unpainted, signed Figarti figure from the lunch drawing (I gave this to Louis B. as he has a better venue for appropriate display)
K&C dinner figure
I found a good price on the ONTC Doughboy riflemen set
another FoV M4A3 Sherman for conversion purposes (I missed a good price on an FoV M3A1 halftrack - I paused to think it over and the darned thing was sold!)
More Conte plastic GI figures for conversions
Another set of TSSD Civil War cavalry for conversions
Even though I'm a WW2 guy I had to get one of the nice 10 pounder Parrot rifles that Ken Osen was selling.
A BUNCH of H&A scenery material and some Build-a-rama parts
a new foam building from Hobby Bunker
a 21C Opel truck in Afrika Korps colors

I looked at several K&C pieces but held off for the Figarti US recovery vehicle and some K&C Bulge figures that are coming out this winter. I really like the K&C M26 recovery truck also!

Funny Thing Brad- My daughter MAY be the real toy soldier collector in our family. You never know....

Great to see and talk with the forum members.
I bought the 7 set Frontline WW1 German stormtroopers
Figarti Grant Tank
ONTC German WW1 tank
The 2 lunch figures
Some Build O Rama sets
A whole lot of Gary Binders plastic conversions he made for me
2 TSSD Pacific War dugouts
But the thing I came away with is I,ve got to have either the Figarti E Boat or K-5.
If pending deals, I,ll know by the middle of October, work out. One of the above will be ordered.
Gary

I wasn't able to clean up on all the early glossy K&C stuff, but I did find a glossy K&C Royal Marine Marching Band for $100 which I got as a gift for Brad. However, he already had the set, and Clive refused the gift of this set unless he paid for it.:)

Hi All,
Steven your offer was really kind but maybe it's a British thing, I would have been embarassed to acceptsomething you'd already paid for.
I had a great time, in between assisting in the Figarti room I managed to meet up with Louis, Brad,Larence,Hans,Steven,Tom,Carlos in paricular and many others from the forum.
Those mentioned helped me find my way around the hotel (no mean feat given the construction going on)and the "hot" rooms.
Although our French friends seemed to be ahead of me all the way I managed to get the following
K&C Seaforth Band in Khaki
K&C Last Stand S'Forth in Khaki
K&C Camels
Britains navy A/car
Somerset pack camel(s)
KandC Marine band(care of Steven)
Somerset pack mule(s0
Oh and more Camels.

In my opinion you simply can't have enough camels!!!
You can see a Sudan type theme developing here.
Not sure where the Figarti K5 fits but it's a must.
Regards and thanks to all who helped.
Clive

Steven,

I didn't really realize it was a gift so if I seem an ingrate, you have my apologies

But again, like Clive, I would have insisted on paying for it.

I believe Clive is trying to persuade Rick in using camels in the K 5:D

I'd have used a locomotive myself. Seems a bit harsh asking camels to lug that thing back and forth along the track.:p

Clive

Clive,
I can assure you that it's not a British thing. I, for instance, have particularly low moral and ethical standards, and would be more than happy to accept a K5 as a gift from you. :)
Simon

Simon,
Amazingly, you're not alone in being able to overcome such strict scruples.
But remember being in debt to someone(especially me) can have long term consequences.
Why don't you do what Rob did at the March show and leave me his credit card for a half hour or so? !!!
