PWeiss toy soldier auctions on ebay (1 Viewer)

Here is a link to their other auctions pages... the good stuff starts at the bottom of page three.

It would appear to be some sort of live auction or other, non-standard ebay auction.

There are scads of soldiers, boxed and otherwise, including Trophy, Steadfast and Imperial Productions (including an HS1 set!).

Good luck,
D.

Absolute treasure trove for collectors of toy soldiers.....Thanks Michael

There's some real nice Trophy items. I put in a bid on the Camel Corps set for $150, thinking I might be the high bidder. No such luck! I'm at the bottom of the list. I think these will be very expensive, possibly beating their estimate.

Generally you cannot get hold of Trophy the Camel corp stuff for love or gold. If you like them, then Mike Norris does some really great Camel corps stuff.

Damian

I have never used e bay so this may be a dumb question, but why do they not list the value of the bids. They just rank them. Surely you need to know what you are bidding against.

This is not your ebay style auction but a real auction like Vectis. So basically you submit your bid and it's opened on the day they actually have the auction. However, they do rank them so as you can see I'm on the bottom!

Brad, thanks for your explanantion. Mike Norris is the man behind Little Legion. His figures generally complement Trophy figures. He makes the figures Len Taylor never got round to making.

Damian,

Thanks. Should have put the two together as I have a LL Napoleonics set. I had never looked at the Sudan collection and some of that looks really great. Now, I just need to decide which.

Hi Guys,

Just an opinion here but I think the Camel Corps will probably come close to twice the estimate. They dont come around too often and when they do they seem to gain very high prices. I wish you luck Brad but you may have to consider a seriously higher bid.

All the best

I see some Delhi Durbar stuff there as well. It is all Britains. Any comments or observations. You have to wade through a lot of dolls and girls stuff to get to the toy soldiers though.

Hi Damain,

There were some good lots in this pending auction and if you have the ability you could really make a good dent in the Durbar sets you were missing with several of them being very good sets and one elephant being the highly sought after 8848. So I think they will draw some relatively high prices but who knows you may get lucky. I'm in an Imperial battle right now and have doubts that I will come out on top but I am giving it a go so keep your fingers crossed for me.

All the best

Dave

I'm rooting for you, Dave.

Good luck, that's a great set.

I threw a couple of bids out on some sets that were getting no love. I am sure someone will outbid me live, but what the hey...

D.

Did anyone get any of these?

I checked in this morning and there were six hours left. I just checked a little while ago and all the auctions were ended.

Surprised by some of the prices, high and low.

So... anyone win any?

Cheers,
D/

That Trophy Camel Corps set went for $650 and it was won by Clive. Didn't know he was into Trophy.

Hi Guys,

Clive got a very good deal there. I lost out on the Heirloom set by over a 100 bucks I guess next time I will need to dig deeper. Looks like some folks got some super deals though.

All the best

Dave

Dave,

Looks like Clive won a few of these Trophy auctions. Well, good for him. Attaboy Clive. He's known as Lurchio here.

With these live bid auctions, they never really end when they say they do so when it's got 12 hours or so left, you have to see if they've actually started the auctions or get shut out.

Thanks, Brad.

Does anyone know if "cbiparker" is a member here?

He/she won all the Imperial auctions.

D,
