Hi guys..i received this beautiful figure but in a few books i've read that Hitler was corporal in the 16th bavarian reserve regiment and this figure has 13 on the shoulder straps..i'm missing something? Is the uniform correct?

The List-Regiment was definitely the 16th Bavarian (Reserve), so it sounds like an error.

Yes i fear it's an error too..i hoped there was a different numbering 16th in the bavarian army and 13th in the german (i know it's a bit unrealistic as hypothesis)..the uniform is identical to the other german figures that bear the number 13 on the pickelhaube..and by the few photographs and colour plates (as in the osprey volume on the German Army in WWI) i fear that even the uniform isn't correct..

I am by no means an expert but I think the Hitler figure is wearing a landwehr blouse instead of a Bavarian one. I think the only difference is the buttons on the sleeve and the color strip on the collar.

As far as the number, I don't know where the 13 would come from but then again I have yet to see a picture of the Bavarians that showed any numbers on shoulder straps.

I really hope someone can show me that I am wrong, I would hate for such a major error to be made on this figure.

Well, the List Regiment was actually a reserve regiment, not a line regiment, so that sounds right. There was also a 16th Infantry Regiment, which was "Duke of Toscany", if I remember correctly.

Yes, numer "13" is wrong. It was been Regeiment No. 16; Bayrisches Reserveregiment. - Don't worry, this is not the only error in toy soldier uniforms and so...
As an example: at the battle of Waterloo no flags were rolled out! - But we love (and this is OK) our Waterloo soldiers with waving flags ...

Thanks Hans and all the others...the figure in itself is worth buying..i'm a bit demanding regarding the details..but otherwise is an excellent pose and likeness..another question arises..what is the box in his hand?Ammunitions?

Hitler was a runner between headquarters and the trenches. I believe this box may have something to do with this role.

Can anyone confirm?

I haven't seen the figure, since I'm not a K&C collector, is there a picture somewhere?

I'll look over in the store...

I'm thinking too that it's something to do with his role as a runner..By the way here's the pic.

OK, I saw a pic over in the Treefrog store. The box Adolf has in his hand looks like an ammunition container. I don't know specifically if they were used to carry dispatches, but it's certainly possible. But there were leather pouches designed specifically for the purpose, too.

Maybe Andy or Tony know more of the research behind the figure...

Yes , i remember a case for despatches..maybe in the box there's food for his pet!:)(i remember one fom "Hitler the rise of Evil")
