Question about WS68 PUMA ARMOURED CAR (1 Viewer)

Hi friends, does anyone know if that AFV is historically accurate?
I have found out that version did have a 75MM gun, and the late war paint scheme is accurate..
The K&C version looks short in length to me, but i could very well be wrong

If you already know that model had a 7.5 cm gun and an accurate late war paint job, what other historical details are you concerned about the accuracy of?

It's a very good looking AFV and is part of my core collection. But it is an old piece and is probably 1/32. It also has the details of an older piece and if K&C did one today would have more detail.

I had read somewhere, perhaps here, that the K & C version was not really a Puma. Why, I don't remember.

Technically only the the Sd.Kfz.234/2 mounting the 5 cm KwK 39 L/60 carried the name "Puma"

WS068 is a Sd.Kfz.234/3 which mounted the 7.5 cm KwK 37 L/24

Its accurate in all but name. Type in sdkfz 234/3 and you will get loads of pictures and loads of info on this particular variant. I do know allied troops who came across this thought and called it a Puma but, we do know sometimes manufacturers describe something wrong or put something on or, leave it of its just one of those things. Size wise it looks to be about right in size so, its a great set and IMO has one of the best crew figures ever made by K&C the one holding the superstructure nonchalantly with leg crossed. Superb.

The Sd.Kfz 234 had 4 main variants
1.234/1, with open top turret and armed with 1x2cm KwK 30 gun + 1 MG. About 220 were built
2.234/2 "Puma" Fully enclosed turret armed with 1x5cm kwk 39 gun + 1MG. about 100 were built between sept 43 and sept 44
3.234/3 open top superstructure 1x7,5cm K51 gun, 88 were built from june till dec 44
4.234/4 Pakwagen, 1x7,5cm pak, open top, 89 were built between dec 44 and march 45
2nd SS Panzer Div. Das Reich was the first unit to receive the 234/2 during the winter 43/44 in Ukraine
The Panzer Lehr Div was given the highest priority concerning supplies of new machines.In jan 1944, in France, they had a complete Panzerspäh- Kompanie of 234/2
The 1st SS LSSAH in june 1944 had 10
Against the allied invasion stood 3 Panzer Div equipped with the 234/2 Puma;

This is a vehicle that really needs to be re-visited and re-released. So many different versions and different fronts that it was invovled in.
