I have a chance to buy an enourmous plastics collection of American Civil war 54mm figures. About a 3rd are original marx figures and the rest are recasts and a variety of makers such as accurate, Conte, and many more. Getting a good price on them. My goal is to be able to sell them for more than I buy. Need advice, does this sound like it is possible. I am buying from a very reputable guy who I have bought from before. He always gives me good deals and this is one. Just need advice about selling them.

As far as "selling for more than I buy them for" - good luck. As the old phrase goes "Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you". You may be able to turn a good deal, but who can predict in today's economy. My suggestion - get them if YOU like them. Think of what might happen if you are stuck with them, are they something you might collect or will you just be unhappy because you couldn't inance you next car from them?

When you say you are getting a good buy, I would have to know the particulars.
All I know about a year ago I sold off all my plastic Civil War, Marx, Accurate and others and I took a loss.

Vintage Marx may get you a couple of bucks per figure, the Accurate and Re-casts can usually be found in abundance in the 50 cent bins. Could take a long time to get your investment back if at all.

Try putting them in lots of all running, all marching, or all firing. There are guys like me you like to acquire just those figures and make large firing lines or advancing troops. I had good luck on Ebay selling figures that way.
