Hi ive recently been given the Edinburgh castle facaide made by K&C & im looking to use it with my WBritains Cameron Highlanders Band.
My question is what era is the Band from? Because im looking for a couple of Redcoats from the same era to use in the sentry boxes, are any of the Redcoats available suitable or will I have to wait for a future release?

Which band? The old "hollowcast" series one, or the new limited edition? The new one is 1983-2008, but I don't know the old one. If it is the new one, either the present day or 1970s guards will work. If it is the old one, you could always use a figure from the escort. If you don't have that set, or want another, I have one for sale, and you can pm me.

Im on about the new limited edition band from 2008 that matches the Redcoats style. I think you must be mistaken with the date 1983 - 2008 as the Cameron Highlanders didn't exist after 1961 as they were amalgamated with the Seaforth Highlanders to form the Queen's Own Highlanders, also the escort set wouldn't work for me as sentry's as they are marching figures & the sentry would be stood to attention. Thanks for your sugestions though they are appreciated :)

Im thinking they should represent anywhere between 1873 after they became the Queen's Own & changed there facings to Blue & the start of WW1 where they stopped using the Red coloured coats for ceremonial duties? Hopfully someone can can narrow it down for me a bit?

I actually got that date strait from the WBritain website. I belive that, though they were amalgamated, some batalion of thr Royal Highlanders is tecnically the Camerons. So those figures would be the right era, even though they are marching. Maybe you could do some guards marching back and forth. The ceramonial guard w/greatcoat is also nice. If you have the time, you could always alter the figures to make them stationary. If not Britains has made many stationary guards, and you could try the trooping the colour series.

The uniform of the Q.O.H. was basicaly the same as that of the Camerons Highlanders. Also sentries don't just stand at a post they patrol "double sentry" so the marching figure would be fine as long as he's pointed in the right direction!:D

It doesn't matter what batalion of the Queen's Own they were in all soldiers would of been in the Mackenzie of Seaforth Kilt & all bandsmen would of been in the Cameron of Erracht Kilt so they couldn't represent them after they amalgamated, I might get away with the pipes & drums as they have the right Kilt but not the colour party.

Also the number 1 dress eventually became Dark Blue so they wouldn't of paraded in Scarlet.

Thanks for pointing that out Martin didn't realise they marched while on sentry, im still looking for an "at attention" figure though just like the look of a soldier stood to attention in front of the box :D:D:D

I think trying to find a figure standing at attention would be the challenge (from Britians anyway). I know WB did a figure @ 2000 as part of the ceremonial range and there were also the figures from the trooping the colour series. I think these maybe to late for the Highlanders though.

I was thinking the same thing Scott, wasn't sure if the new redcoat figure 44016 private 16th regiment of foot - 1868 would do but I think it would still be to early? Hopfully we will get a more modern figure stood at atention in the near future?

Look on the WB site. I swear it says 1980s to 2008. I agree with the trooping th colour ides, as I originally said. But I swear they are from that date. I don't know the rational, but I know the intension and the official date.

Yes the dates 1983 - 2008 are because they made the set for the 25th anniversary of the limited edition series which started in 1983 with a set of Cameron Highlanders, What im after is the date they represent.

Oh, ^%^&%. So sorry about the mixup. I really was convinced that was what it said. So sorry.:D I just did a lot of research, and I can confidently say around 1916. Here are the pics:

Lol I've been looking up all my different Highlander books & pictures & think I need (o find a figure to go with them around the early 1900's aswell. I was just hoping that Ken could put a date on what year he was thinking when he made them?

That is stragne that they didn't include a date...the photo I posted is 1916:)
