Question: HEER Germans?? (1 Viewer)

I thought I knew enough about WWll Germans but I see more reference to model kits and figures refering to Heer gun crews, Heer tanks, etc. Is this some reference to SS or Wehrmach troops? Leadmen
 
Well, I thought it was a general name used for the entire wehrmacht.
 
That could be right, just seems they use that term more now. Thanks-John
 
Thanks Brad- I will check it out. This forum is better then google. Been thinking of that term for awhile. John
 
The Whermacht refers to the armed forces, The Heer is the Army, Kreigsmarine the Navy, the Luftwaffe the Air Force and the SS was the Schutzstaffel which was never really a legal branch of service but a tool of the Nazi party. My understanding is that in post war Germany the members of the Waffen or 'Armed' SS did not recieve the benefits of veterans of recognized German armed forces either.
