Just a,question, did the 101st Paras have the flag on thier Uniforms during WWII???

I may be wrong about this but I believe they only wore the flag on their right shoulder during the invasion to identify themselves as Americans.

Apologies for the stupid question but does that mean subsequent reinforcements did not have the patch or did those that had already arrived remove them?
