Hi guys I was wondering if someone could post a pic or describe what a WW2 ranger with M1 Carbine would look like, as obviously they would not have a garand belt, or thompson pouches, so I was wondering if anyone had pics?:)

Btw guys here is me at War and Peace!;)

Calm down. Wasn't meant as criticism, simply that you looked ready for combat with targets in sight. -- Al

The carbine was basically a repalcement for a pistol type weapon for support troops, technical people and officers. The initial basis of issue was similar to a .45 pistol, one magazine in the weapon and two more in a dual pouch. Usually the carbine pouch was worn on the belt, but sometimes was slipped over the stock (from when I had one, one has to disassemble the weapon to slide the belt loop of the pouch over the stock). Obviously some troopers obtained extra ammo pouches and magazines.

So the soldier in question should have a pistol belt with a carbine ammo pouch (plus canteen, first aid pouch, etc).
