Hi Guys,
I know some of you like to see what mischief I get up to when I’m not writing ‘DISPATCHES’ or taking part on this and other Forums or even helping to pull together the latest edition of ‘COLLECTOR’.
Well, most of my time and many of my days are sitting here in H.Q. in Hong Kong designing and ‘drawing-up’ all kinds of different figures for our many different series and ranges.
One of my favourite ranges to work on is K&C’s ‘VIETNAM’ series. A few weeks back I completed no less than 16 all new ‘GRUNTS’ to join our USMC marines fighting in Hue during the ’68 TET Offensive.
Among the first three ‘sculpts’ I approved are these three ‘Streetfighters’ making their way house-by-house, street-by-street towards the old citadel with its 20ft. thick walls where the Viet Cong and NVA regulars are holed-up.
One of the many great pleasures I enjoy is seeing how our brilliant sculptors convert my 2-dimensional sketches into amazing and life-like 3-dimensional figures.
Even without paint these figures, at least in my book, look authentically realistic!
I hope you agree, all the best and have a great weekend,
Andy
P.S. We’ve also not forgotten our Aussie & Kiwi mates in Vietnam... There’s another terrific ANZAC vehicle ‘in-the-works’ and almost a dozen ANZAC soldiers in a wide variety of poses.
