Well i have a great idea.Listen to this an dthan tell me your opinion.
We all collect toy soldiers figures and than all the fun we have with them is to display thema nd photo them, and look at them and everything but that is kind of everything we can do with them.I have a great idea. Why we really dont feel like a general.Like Napoleon,or Nelson,or Zulu war chief,or Britain army,or confederete army, union army,...?
Why we do not make an real battle field with the competition.Like we divide in some groups.Like there must be always at least two sides.Like exampl:
-everyone who have napoleon figures join in one army(let say five or more man bring their napoleon figures with them and than they display them on the battlefield)
-the other group of players bring their British forces or Russian forces,....and thay play against them.
-but first we need to make a rules.Like how we will know who will win.We can display them against each other but than we need judge that will measure the battlefield, than we need to agree how many move one side can make and for how much cm they can move their forces.
-think about the excitment when you are a chief commander that look from the bird perspective on the battlefield and decide when it is time to put cavalry on the game,or attack from left blank or right blank,....
-this is posible if we make a really good rules what is allowed and what is not to see who is a winner.
-and some other group can play independence war,or civil war,zulu,.....

this can be the real strategic game, like chess or we throw dices for combats so we can know who is killed and who is nota nd stuff like that-We need to make our own rules

Cute idea. Do I get to melt down my opponents' figures after I deploy my "Enola Gay" B29 at the end of the WW2 battle?

Gary

:D:D:D no melting down oponents figures-just take away from the game and after he can take it back home.
Or we can go "wild" and that mean that all the figures killed in the battle pick up the winners later. But i am not sure people will like that :D:D:D

You could call it "War Games" as a working title. I think it may have been already done.

I am in if the rules can be kept simple, realistic, and fun. Would we take pictures and post to keep up with battles. I ahve often thought about using my figures to make mini dioramas and keep up sith progress on a real map

well yes of course. We can make the rules. If you have any good ideas you can start and than people can support or we update the rules and we will talk about that and than we will get the real rules later and we all will play to that rules.
I was thinking like this:
we have a few war scenarios:
Napoleon,Zulu,Independence war,Civil war
Than we divide the groups and we all bring the figures on teh battle field.Than we play by the rules we all agree on.Like how much move can one side make, for how many cm of the battlefield, maybe cavalry make more cm like two cm in one move and infantry make only 1 cm,...than for the combat we throw dices and if there is like 10 infantry against 8 infantry and the one side throw 5 and the other side throw 3 than the side who throw 3 put one infantry man down,...but before that they must meet "in shooting range" they must come close to the cm we dicide.that is why there must be judge. The judge will measure and look everything.Than maybe the cavalry have option on two throw of the dice and infantry only one if the combat is cavalry against infantry. The cannon have maybe three time throw or something like that.
You can say your own opinions.
And maybe we can build a teams sponsored by manufactures, like WBritain France army against K&C red army,...this is good promotions for the manufactures and they will finaly see which team are stronger

I like the idea. It may take me a little time to think of something though. I have a 54mm french army with cavalry ready to do battle now. No artillery though

Well the easiest battlefield will surely be Waterloo? There seems an excessive amount of Napoleonic collectors on the site

OLD GUARD ASSEMBLEEE!! :p

ok,than the Waterloo it shall be!
I think it is time to start read the books, watch movies,...about the waterloo,so we all know who and which sides take battle there and stuff like that.Than it is start to build an army.I think maybe it is good that people decide which side they will participate.Like maybe we open a new topic and people who will participate with French figures they write there and they start to build their army. They can discuss who will bring what and what they need and stuff like that-normaly no strategic discusion over the topic because it might say too much for the other side.I think just people sign down so that we will see who have what and how much and stuff like that.
The same about the English forces, and if there was any other army at the waterloo they can do the same.
After that we can discuss more.Any suggestions?
