The capitol G in the circle on some of the vehicles apparently is a vehicle marking for 5.Fliegerdivision. Can't find much on them, but a good source of reference for German markings / emblems can be found at:
Those are some really great photos from the eastern front. When you get the books it would be great if you could scan some of the photos in and post them here so we could take a closer look. Not being well versed on the Luftwaffe field divisions I am still looking for information that will help you. I did notice that the bulk of the vehicle license plates had the prefix of WL which would be from wherever their home base was. I know there are places on the web where you can look up that information and then you could use that to cross reference with the units list they have on wikipedia. Thats should give you somewhere to begin the quest for information. I will see if I can cross reference the upside down acorn that is also on a few of the vehicles.
Sorry I dont have more yet. Keep us posted on this neat project.
As 5.Fliegerdivision was mainly based in Norway I suspect that is where most of the pics were taken. Initially I thought the two signs in one of the pictures pointed to towns, but the true translations from German are:
Nachschub = Supply, Schlitten = Sled or sledge, and Veg = Way, road or track.
An overturned horse drawn sled being the main feature in that picture, so I guess they were on the right track at least
