If you want great aerial combat, you got it with this movie:D..All 10 minutes of it. The rest was well acted:), but full of love affairs:eek:, speaches:rolleyes:, etc, etc..The airplanes were well represented in types and paint schemes:cool:, even if most of your view of them were on the ground...If these airplanes were in Flyboys, that film would have a been a classic..:DMichael

Problem was that this was a German made movie..I saw the combat scenes being shown at a soldier show. I did not realize that they were looped to show the only action scene, and I actually bought this one:(..Michael

Thank you for the review. Looks like I will skip purchase. Heck, how can you make a film about a war hero without recounting the events that made that hero? Sounds like the German film producers blew it. -- lancer

It is unfortunate that there is so little aerial combat. Given how important that was to the Baron, it would be odd indeed to minimize it. I have no problem with a balance of the other sides of like, which is what makes anyone human after all, but 10 minutes doesn't do it. Of course I have been waiting for Netflix to get this so I may not see it for a while.

Sounds like it suffers from "Pearl Harbor Syndrome". Surprised they didn't have him fall in love with Beyonce, then fight Zorro to restore King Arthur to the throne of England. That would have been boffo box office.

Nothing wrong with King Arthur & Beyonce-don't know about Zorro though:confused:

Movie sounds like another "non-flyer"-hate to say it guys but they will have to go some to better The Blue Max even with all it's faults it still stands as one of the best WWI flyer movies to date.

The Marine Corp does not give out war toys in their toy drive. The USMC does not want to be seen as promotoing war. Maybe the Germans are a little gun shy.

Gotta agree with this. "Blue Max" is a winner with an excellent cast and a story line that does not get lost in a love story. The flying sequences are real, not computer generated. The attempt at replicating the actual planes, while not perfect, is certainly noteworthy. All around a fine movie. -- lancer

Now hold on, some of us like King Arthur and Zorro (and even Beyonce).:D There is nothing wrong with a lively, historical novel style, action film purely for fun movie. Besides, you cannot blame this on Hollywood, its German!!!!

PS, I love the Blue Max; it is one of my favorites that I hope to see in Blu-ray.
