Although I'll be sitting this one out, heads up on a series of Red Box Naval Brigade Sudan Expedition sets on eBayUK,though simply searching toy soldiers for red box locates them,8 gorgeous oop sets, many unbid, well worth a gander.o.(my apology if I'm ruining someone's sneak attack)

Starting bids are a little steep which might explain the lack of bids

Are these a smaller 54mm, such as Britians and Bulldogs, or a fulller figure? Michael

Hi All,

There is a thread on "Red Box Toy Soldiers" under 'More Glossy Manufacturers'.

I think the discussion and images are very informative about Red Box.

Regards, Raymond.

Regretably,Maddadicus, all the Red Box I own is a single Victorian/Edwardian Tramp sleeping on a Park Bench. The casting is crisp, very well painted, exquisitely modeled down to the nosegay in his buttonhole-compared to a similarly themed Trophy "Lunch in the Park" figure he does seem somewhat diminutive, the Trophy figure more robust. The Fusilier Black Watch Pipers positioned directly behind the dozing Gentleman are a touch larger, but the Charles Hall (Edinburgh) Sentry & Box nearby appear to be of exactly the same scale.I hesitate to draw such comparisons(particulary with only a laying down figure to go by),but your first inclination toward W.B. & B.B. scale similarity may be nearest the mark.Best,o.
