Love to see the figure. Did you find it yet? I often wonder what does happen to the molds. i would like to have some of them for my stuff.

I sure did,and what a pain it was trying to find it,here's a trio of images and another i believe Red box figure, it looks to me as if its a English civil war musketeer?
Although the figures were called red box they didn't come in a box, just loose. There is some yellowing to the gloss white and its starting to yellow:(
I will see if i can dig out some more gloss figures.

2 more pictures I found in my files. I'm afraid these are the last ones.

The Red Box Toy Soldier Company was based in Sheffield UK and I belive stopped producing figures some years ago.

What a shame, those are lovely figures , especially the Camel Corps

There is a company called Red Box that is currently producing 1/71 plastic figures, not sure where they are from or if they are the same company, would seem to be doubtful.

I just got an amazing set of Red Box figures that were made to represent characters from the book/HBO miniseries M.M. Kaye's "The Far Pavilions". They were a gift from friend and fellow collector Doug Luna. I was so impressed with the figures, that I set them out on my K&C glossy Northwest Frontier diorama, the only non-K&C products I ever displayed on it. I will try to get some pictures posted after the symposium next weekend.

Louis,
I'm very impatient to see the pictures !!!

I just e-mailed Brad a couple of photographs of the "Far Pavilions" Red Box set with a polite request that he post them for me.

Here they are and they are really nice.

I was so impressed with these figures that I just looked over the whole thread and did an ebay search but, alas, no luck. The only thing I found was a 1/72 soldiers by another company with the same name. Great figures and camels.

Thanks Brad! If you want to see some more Red Box, talk to Charlie Zucker at the Symposium. Charlie has a pretty sizeable collection of Red Box figures, as they made, many many Camel related items.

Louis

Does the box for the Far Pavilions set indicate which NWF unit or units are represented?
Perhaps Queen's Own Corps of Guides?
Thanks,

Randy

The unit in the book is the Queen's Own Corps of Guides, so you are correct Randy.

Louis,
thanks for the pictures.
They are indeed really nice. Totally in line with the other Red Box toy soldiers I've seen so far.
Is there a thread where I could see pictures of your West Frontier diorama ?
Thanks
Michel
