Red Lancers! (1 Viewer)

Colbert is my favourite FL figure, such quality! I am glad I got it years ago... But it isn't hard to find other great FL figures, I am fortunate to have a few, I especially like the Mounted Personalities.

Cheers,
Paulo

I was able to get an FL " General Colbert" figure after they sold out from a friend who had 2...I got it at a fair reasonable price:smile2:....I don't know if it will be "worth a ton" in the future (that's not that important to me) but I'm fortunate to have gotten one. Now that the "Red Lancers" are being released I'm sure many guys will want a General Colbert figure to go with their purchase of the Red Lancers. Maybe FL will consider a 2nd run or another version. That would be fine by me because I would likely buy another.:smile2:

Hi Frank ,
The reason I think your not worried if it will be worth a good bit is because you have one , but believe me if you were a serious Napoleonic collector who had to have one and was looking to the secondary market you would feel differently. I collect a few lines now and have to look at new releases in a way that most don't. I have to think to myself which ones will sellout faster then others and those are the ones I have to go after first leaving me more time to get the slow movers later. So far it has worked well for me as I currently have all the ones that are soldout that I want as part of my collection. Colbert was one of those figures :wink2: there are many more that I want for my collection before they are gone so thats the point I'm trying to get forth if you see it buy know before they are gone and it will cost more to get one. regards Gebhard

I must have looked at the Colbert figure a few dozen times at least , so when it disappeared from FL,s main page I was kind of kicking myself.
I made the same mistake with the Prussian flag bearer , but never managed to find one at a dealer or on ebay.
So your advice of targeting certain pieces is good .
I know there have also been calls to re run the British foot guards , and although they are nice figures[ in my opinion
they are not as good as what is being produced by first legion today] .
And as Paulo said there are lots more great figures to get if you miss out and plenty more to come I'd imagine .

I got into The first legion Band wagon, At the right time. I was collecting the 1st Foot Guards, And just got my sixth or seventh one, When I saw The General Colbert Figure, And fell for it, And Got it. And I Can never part with it, even if offered X amount. Just because It is such a great looking figure. I tried to pair it with The KC Red Lancers, But it just did not look/ feel right. So been hoping for A First Legion release of the group. And finally its almost here. I am totally excited and can hardly wait.

It looks like it will be well worth the wait , to me FL and K and C are quite different style wise so I can understand your thoughts on it not working together as a display .

I always start a new releases with the Standard Bearer & the Drummer as I know there are many guys who for money and space reasons don't collect one of each line and just go for these figures to have a representation of the units uniforms and colors which makes them the first to sellout. It is really is a pretty smart thing to do if you think about it, I wish I could be so disciplined.
Totally argree with your assessment of the British Foot Guards and subsequent releases they are getting better & better and like you say there are thousands more figures to come:wink2: . regrards Gebhard

I also missed out on collecting the FL NAP British Footguards since at that time I was too busy with Stalingrad:wink2:....In retrospect.... I think.... no problem.......Since I also dabbled in the Crusaders and Romans which kept my TS budget quite "occupied".:rolleyes2:....I also think that the FL quality just keeps getting better since the original footguards...If they do a re-release or another similar regiment it will only be even better. I am collecting more Naps at this time but with all the quality product lines from FL it is hard to stay focused on one line only.{sm4}

I hope that July's Releases would Include the Red Lancers, Then it definitely would be A happy 4th of July, knowing that these are inbound.
