Saw it yesterday and enjoyed it. Just as importantly so did the better half.
Not as much action as Atomic Blonde but plenty of twists. More of a drama / thriller than an action movie.
Good to see Joel Edgerton getting a good leading role. At least we knew he was in it, not like his role in Netflix movie Bright.
There was a review on Daily Mail which was basically saying Jennifer Lawrence should not have made the movie because of the way it portrays women. The training of the Sparrows had some elements (actually probably all) that would be offensive to many. Some viewers might not feel comfortable with a few scenes. However the reality is this is what the Russians did and probably still are doing. I remember reading a book called Sexpionage a long time ago documenting many real cases where Sparrows or Swallows were used to subvert spies, embassy staff and businessmen etc.
I heard a reviewer on the radio give it a poor review but plenty of callers, including females, called in to disagree.
Never been a fan of Lawrence before but this one changed my mind. She certainly gives a good put down to one of her fellow trainees.
