Regal Soldiers of the World Collectors (3 Viewers)

Michael

Regal or Mike Rosso at Stockade Miniatures can order any number or combination to make up your own custom set. I think the boxes only hold 5 but you can add on any extras you want. Here is an example I asked about

I got this from Ian at Regal:

There are 7 different poses that we can make into City of Glasgow” Highland Light Infantry Gallipoli in 3 sets *of 5 figures if you want. ( or just let *Mike know the figures you would like.)

Set a. Officer,2 men charging, 2 men charging at port

Set b. 3 men advancing, 2 men advancing at port

Set c. 3 men standing firing, 2 men kneeling firing

So potentially you could get 7 different poses or, for example, add an officer to set 3 to make 6
Randy
Very true. The standard sets are 5 figures but all number of figures can be ordered. Mike told me I could get 1 figure or 7-8 figures as an order. SoW is very flexible. -- Al

Regal is now developing an interesting series covering the Mexican American War of 1846-1848 with sets from both the American units involved and their Mexican opponents. The war had important connections to the Civil War of 1861-1865 in that many of the generals and officers received their first experience in battle in that conflict. Additionally, the territories captured or given up by the Mexicans after the American victory became embroiled in the arguments over slavery and the new territories that were added in the the era of "Manifest Destiny", the term coined by John Sullivan in 1845 to describe America's continental expansion.

Here are 4 sets of U.S. Infantry. All figures are available as sets, singly or in any combination of poses.

Those are really sharp looking in the all light blue uniforms. Very nice. -- Al

"Chow Mein and Sauerkraut"

Chinese Boxers skirmish with German Kriegsmarine near a Peking courtyard during the Boxer Rebellion of 1900

I received 9 new Soldiers of the World Boxers for Christmas (Sets BX1A and BX1D) and here are 2 of them in action. As usual they are beautifully made glossy figures.

That is a great action scene Randy. I agree with you that these glossy figures from SOW are very beautiful. Great job as always.

Great picture, Randy. Great Christmas gifts, too. SoW Boxer figures are some of their best. As a matter of interest, my SoW WW1 1914 French 75mm gun set and caisson set are due to arrive either today or tomorrow. They are my Christmas gift. :wink2:^&grin -- Al

Nice looking figures Randy. The Wilmot Proviso was one of the events that hastened the breakdown.

Does Regal make any Civil War figures?

Yes they do ACW. Below are links to the other Mexican American War sets and some of the ACW ones as well. Like Little Legion they make a lot of items not yet on their website

Randy,

Thanks for the links. I assume that Regal soldiers are different than Soldiers of the World, or are they the same?

Assuming they are different, do you order directly from their website or does Tony carry them as well?

You can order directly from the Regal/SOW website from New Zealand or in the US from Mike Rosso at Stockade Miniatures (Which both Al and I do). Tony is no longer a US distributor.

http://www.stockade-miniatures.com/

Single standing figures are $22 USD Mounted $58 USD You can mix, match or order whatever combo you want as well. A 5 figure set like BX1A sells for $110 plus shipping.

Regal is a NZ company but expressly makes the SOW sets for Mike at Stockade and formerly for Tony as well. As far as I understand it Mike & Tony created the SOW lines. The Regal line focuses on New Zealand subjects sich as the Maori Wars.

Thanks. Mike is actually not that far from me (about 45 minute drive) so I may call him and take a drive up there.
