Hello,
Has anyone used reindeer moss in their dioramas? I am thinking of using this moss to make a zeribar for my Sudan figures.
Thanks
Benjamin

There was a time when that was all you could buy! It's good stuff if you get the dyed stuff but the natural will dry out and crumble with time.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for the feedback. Are there any other products that would be better to use.
Thanks

I think it's perfect for a zeriba but sometimes the colour is a bit bright. Thinned down washes of acrylic paint will sort that out though.:) I was just talking about it a couple of days ago to someone, and he was saying he has dioramas with reindeer moss that has lasted twenty years and more, whereas some of the more natural things (untreated) have only lasted a couple of years! Remember railway modellers have used it for a long time.

Waiting until it is "crisp" - bone dry, then giving it several coats of well thinned acrylic clear coat would probably stabilise it.
