Question for Ken

I don,t think this line was from the new ownership, the Stalingrad sets.
I saw them at OTSN and was impressed and when they came out a few months ago I bought them. I have to say I was completely disappointed, mainly in the fact they were all different sizes, the Germans were small and most of the Russians were huge.
My point being, since I now have all your ONTC WW2 sets, which I really like, will the new Britain WW2 sets be compatable with ONTC sets?
I,m very weary of buying the new Britains after my experiance with the Stalingrad sets.
Thanks, Gary

Hi There! You are correct that the Stalingrad series was developed and produced by the former owners (RC2).
It was too far along to pull the plug on so there you have it. All of the WWII sculpts were done here by me and are 100% compatible with the ONWTC Normany range. Honestly, I think the paint and production will be even better than the first couple of ONWTC releases based on everything I have seen so far. There was a bit of a learning curve here at ONWTC, but those wrinkles are over.
The W.Britains selection combined with the ONWTC range will give the collector a huge selection right now...and they are all combat poses for those of you that like that. Add to that the WB vehicles...with all new vehicles also in the works, and you have a great 1/32nd collection. Between the two companies there are 13 German Paras alone armed with MP40s, K98s, pistols, grenades, panzerfaust and an MG42. 22 Waffen SS and a great selection of GIs.
Both companies will be releasing additional poses and subject matter in the fall, including Commonwealth troops (WB) and US paras (ONWTC).

Sounds all very good. I have the 1st 3 sets of Jackson In the Valley and I am very pleased. So GK, fear not. Ken Osen is the best there is.And a nice guy to boot!!!

Carlos, i'm with you as far as needing another Pak 40 , but oh my that ones a beaut aint it!They all look very very good and I'll be picking up a set of each of all the WW2, Acw, AWI and Napoleonics they produce. My wallets in trouble- again.

Hi,
Can you tell us which vehicles are in the works?

I really like the fallschirmjager releases and the ambushed truck. To be honest I think these are a more exciting selection of releases than the forthcoming K&C Normandy figures I guess mainly because they feature my favourite subjects, the FJ's. I also like the action poses which will go well alongside FOV vehicles.

Looking forward to WB's commonwealth releases and i would like to see some British paras in the future.

The intentional or unintentional collaboration between ONWTC and Britains is clear and frankly kind of cool. Ken Osen seems to be the common ingredient with his sculpts and painting supervision. Checkout these links and tell me what you think:

In my opinion, Britains, ONWTC and Conte will eventually rule 1/32 market with some competition from Figarti and limited crossover competition from 1/30 manufacturers like KC.

The style between Britains/ ONWTC and Conte are extremely compatible but the different with Conte being darker and grittier. They are complimented by FOV and some 21st Century vehicles and Build-A-Rama, Conte, ONWTC and Britains materials to complete any cool WWII diorama scene.

KC is the undisputed champ in the 1/30 market with some emerging competition. However, most of the true competition is in the 1/32 market and I’m pretty excited about that, knowing that 1/32 collector will be the winners.

Keep collecting and have fun,

Carlos

Hi guys,

Looks like it will be a very fun summer with all of the scheduled releases! I am still hopeful that there will be some attention given to the one area of WWI that has been mainly ignored the Tank Corps! I would be really happy to see a set of personality figures from the Corps as well as a few more of the tanks to go with my Mark I like the Mark IV and a Medium Tank MK A Whippet since ONTC is producing the FT 17 that is covered but an A7V would be fun to see. I hope that since there has been a renewed interest in this War I will get my wish. Anyone have a more thoughts on this?

Good evening everyone,

Since we're posting our wish lists for WB, I would like to see some British 8th Army figures from the North Africa campaign. Forces of Valor has some nice British tanks available, but there aren't any good troops for them. (The K&C 8th Army figures are great, but too big for the FOV vehicles.)

Also, can anyone give us some hints as to what to expect for further development of Britain's Civil War range? The initial sets are fantastic. Will Britains be making any cavalry figures? How about some mounted Union officers? I don't think there are too many collectors eagerly searching for a Nathaniel Banks, but one or two generic field or staff officers on horseback would be a great complement to the existing selections.

Also, any hints on the Napoleanic offerings?

Just some thoughts,

Black Hat

Gents,

Look at the info sheet which comes with the new ACW sets.

If I had to hazard a guess at what will be the next releases in the ACW series, I would say some Confederated cavalry ( Ashby's Raiders) and Artillery (Rockbridge). On a previous posting they stated that there would be a couple of releases at the end of the year. So how about a cavalry set (3 or 4 pieces) and a cannon with crew.

Andy

Hi All:

Andy - Well done! You are exactly right - the info sheet for ACW included what else we hope to release this year and early into next year. Have done a few more infantry now for the next catalog with some artillery and cavalry in the works for late 2006/early 2007.

Black Hat - no Nathanial Banks! That was next up! You are exactly right - probably not a big call for the more obscure Union officers but a mounted generic Union officer and ADC would be nice - working on one now - not sure which catalog it/they will make. North Africa Desert Rats etc. - like the period and players - have not decided 100% on all of 2007/2008 yet so still under consideration.

Meanwhile - Ken is creating some of the most amazing Rev War (Yorktown) and Napoleonic (Hougoumont) figures I have ever seen with incredible little details in the sculpting and then added details in the painting from Dave that just make these figures come alive.

Dave - Like your idea about WWI tanks too - for now we are sticking to 1914 so not an option but very soon we will be working our way up through the war. Hold on tight!

Be good,

Richard

Hi Richard,

I will start saving my allowance now! Because the new figures look great.

Dave
