I went a couple of days ago to " Les invalides" museum, and outside were some tanks. One "Matilda" and one " Renault"... It would be nice to see this made by some manufacturer...:p

The most powerful of French tanks in service in 1940 was an old-fashioned formula, its main artillery being placed in the bunker which reduced the score latitude.

However its armor of 60 mm could not be pierced by any enemy tanks. He had a powerful armament (two canons 75 and 47 mm, 2 machine guns of 7.5 mm) and good mobility in difficult terrain.

The battalions of tanks had less than 400 B1 and B1 bis in May 1940.

K&C made two versions of the Char B1 bis and they are often available on e-bay for $150 - $175.

Two important French tanks yet to be modeled are the light Hotchkiss H39 and the medium Sumoa S35.

Mine too. FOB009 is based on an actual tank 216 ANJOU which in September 1939 was assigned to the 2nd DCR - Division Cuirassée de Réserve - Reserve Armoured Division. There were four DCR with 148 tanks each to be used to break through German fortified lines. The DCR was the French version of a Panzer Division. Within the 2nd DCR, ANJOU was part of the 15th BCC Bataillon de Chars de Combat - Tank battalion of about 30 Char B1 bis tanks, in the 2nd Company. On May 19, ANJOU was attacking German positions at Ham on the Somme. In order to prevent the German tank and anti-tank 37mm guns from being completely overrun, the Luftwaffe bombed the French tanks with Stukas. ANJOU was damaged and on May 21st was in the repair workshop of the 349th CACC. On May 30, ANJOU entered the Battle of Abbeville where an engine fire caused an explosion inside the tank and destroyed it in the Bienfay Ravine near Mount Caubert.

The crew was

Chef de char : Sous-Lieutenant Vieux
Pilote : Sergent Perrin
Aide-pilote : Caporal James puis Raimbaud
Radio : Chasseur Larnier
