Hi,
Last year I purchased on EBAY.fr an Ottoman Cavalry figure from Hachette's
First World War series. As it was part of a subscription series they painted
the figure in four colors to cut down costs. Their painting was really weak.

I just finished repainting the entire figure, except for part of the face, to which I
added black eye brows and a black mustache. I dry brushed the figure with paint and a chalk pastel that I ground up and
mixed in with the paint. I did this to convey the impression that this figure just returned from a patrol in from the Sinai or Negev deserts.

The facade is from a kit that painted years ago for Middle East settings. I painted the doorway as a Haj doorway denoting that the
occupants made the Haj.Ottoman Cavalry 1.jpgOttoman Cavalry 3.jpg

Very nice work. I really like the figure and the backdrop

Nicely done, you've definitely improved on the factory finish. He'll fit in nicely with the Australian light horse and Turk figures.

Prost!

Thanks Brad and Mitch,
There are a few nice figures in the Hachette World War I series, such as the German advisor and an Arab warrior. From my point of view they all need repainting, but it is fun to do.
Cheers,
Benjamin
