Last year I purchased on EBAY.fr an Ottoman Cavalry figure from Hachette's
First World War series. As it was part of a subscription series they painted
the figure in four colors to cut down costs. Their painting was really weak.
I just finished repainting the entire figure, except for part of the face, to which I
added black eye brows and a black mustache. I dry brushed the figure with paint and a chalk pastel that I ground up and
mixed in with the paint. I did this to convey the impression that this figure just returned from a patrol in from the Sinai or Negev deserts.
The facade is from a kit that painted years ago for Middle East settings. I painted the doorway as a Haj doorway denoting that the
occupants made the Haj.
