I seem to recall the seller posting here that he repainted a few QBs to go with Monongahela. Do a search under his name. The repainting would not have been done by John.

I would not buy them simple because the eBay pictures are terrible.

Trying to be a bit objective, the mere act of repainting a figure, in and of itself, is not bad.:rolleyes2:

The amount of talent on this website if incredible, and the vehicles; the figures and scenery products that have been “upgraded” is a huge boon to the TS hobby.

There is no way that any TS vendor, (be it John Jenkins, King and Country, First Legion or whoever), will make all possible Regiments and all possible poses for a particular era or series. For example, I am dying for a driver for my K&C BR054 Supply Wagon set, (Actually 4-5 drivers) but no luck. If I could find something that was close, I'd give it a whirl. {sm2}

So, if you are talented enough to alter a figure or repaint them, then I can see a huge advantage in doing so.

The only issue that needs to be addressed is if there is no statement that this particular item is an “artist” liberty and rendition of a TS vendor piece and not the original (as released) work. Maybe I am nit-picking, so sorry, but just a point or clarification

Don't personally have a problem with repaints, but if you read the description they aren't identified as such, and are claimed to be rare figures from the Braddock line. The description is confusing at best. Should note that they are repaints, not by John, from another series, otherwise someone could be buying something less than expected. As with most things eBay, buyer beware. I agree there is some excellent talent out there for repainting. It should be celebrated, not hidden, as that is part of the fun!

even if JJ himself repainted these...two of these are not from the BM series...

I don't understand this ad at all...or the wording on this ad...

I don't see how you can repaint some QB's and make all the above claims...

it is definitely a little deceiving...or misleading at best...

I took matters in my own hands a few months ago and changed / repainted - a Set of the QB-08 to YELLOW CUFFS AND TRIM and then joined them to the Ranks of 44th Foot !

Looks to have done a good job, but should note that in the auction instead of passing them off as something else.

actually...he did a pretty good job on the painting...might have looked a little better if he had finished off the shirt and pants in white...

but I think "repaint" should be stated in the ad...

Last year I posted a POA 47th Grenadier that I converted to a BOM 44th Grenadier, painting the white cuffs to yellow was the "easy" part.....but to make it look really good, especially up close, you have to shave off the white "piping" on the the 47th figures vest/waistcoat, along the edges and around the buttons......the 44th figures don't have that piping protruding from their waistcoats........but it would take a lot of nerve, and a steady hand

Thanks Mike, I planned on doing more 47th figures, but was too busy trying to collect all the BoM figs first, still catching up ^&grin
