Here are some of my painted figures by Replicants, produced here in the UK. A nice range of slightly unusual sculpts, but not without their problems. Firstly, they have very severe "flash" which needs careful trimming away prior to painting, and secondly "hands" seem to be a problem. Many are undefined, too large or out of scale. Out of the bag I was not over impressed, however once cleaned up, primed and finally painted they don't look too bad. Your comments Gents, most welcome.

Sorry Mike, personally I don't like the castings. I know you buy what you like, so you are pleased with them, just saying I am not keen.

They are "flashy" and expensive but I have a good number of them though I have only fully painted one of the cantinieres.

I agree Scott, REPLICANTS figures are very flashy but like you have demonstrated, when cleaned and painted up they are a great wee figure. BUT, I have found sometimes that paint is difficult to stay on...even after all the preparation before painting. Have you experienced this ? I have washed and primed but still the paint sometimes flakes of the finished figure. Any tips

The only other Replicant set I have is the Civil war stretcher party, and I haven't seen the cantiniere and many others in their range. I saw the Pinkerton guys, which I did like , particularly the poses, and these were my next planned Replicant purchase.

I clean them with dish soap and just use cheap art store acrylics. I do spray them with clear matt spray from the art shore or hard ware store.

I like some of the Western figures. I use the John Brown figures from the Harpers Ferry series as western figure to.IMG_7014.JPGIMG_7016.JPGIMG_7017.JPG

These figures look good, Steve Weston over here, is our stockist, so I will check these out at our next London show next month, assuming he has them I'll probably buy a pack of each. I like your western style buildings in the background, I'd like to have a similar backdrop to create a mini-Dio for all my western figures.
