I,m sitting at the computer with the TV on waiting for the grand jury decision. The news is on and it looks like a big snow day as the bottom of the tv screen is scrolling nothing but various school, business, etc closeings tonight in anticipation.
I,m 35 minutes from ground zero ( Ferguson) so not to worry on my part, although if need be I,m ready to "lock & load".
More to come.

Stay save, Gary, ... to you and friends and Family ..... from Larry in Rural Maine and very glad to be here!!!!!!!

The mainstream media have their share of blame in whatever happens, as do the hustlers and agitators who are encouraging violence.

The media knows that "violence sells" and too often they encourage these actions by giving so much coverage. It looked to me that there were more news people then demonstrators!
Unfortunately this is one of the down sides to freedom of press......we can only hope that the media become more responsible but if it gets them more viewers that equates to more advertising dollars
and bonuses!

Understood that it's freedom of speech, and also, that the media are whores for ratings. But with freedom comes responsibility. Most of the broadcasters are experiencing an almost orgasm-like feeling for the Sixties, and they superimpose their template on events. Empty heads in empty suits and skirts.

Seems there are many broadcasters siding against the police officer. Prior to the individual getting shot, he robbed a local store by taking
tobacco products and had no intention of paying. This constitutes a crime. He is then soon after confronted by a Police officer that finds
the thief and his buddy walking in the middle of the street, another violation of the law. The thief then gets into a physical confrontation
with the Police officer and assaults him in his own Police car. I guess if the Police officer was the one that got shot everything would have
been fine in some peoples minds. In my book anyone that assaults a Policeman and goes for his gun needs to be shot, as the criminal is
a clear threat to the public. Talk of the officer using other means to deal with the situation such as Mace, stun gun, etc.......don't apply
when you go for an Officers weapon. What normal peace abiding citizen robs a store and then argues, fights with, and tries to go after
a Policeman's Gun ? None that I know of ! Then we have the Grand Jury verdict last night clearing the Officer of his actions which gave
the green light for a excuse or reason for the animals to burn down buildings and loot businesses. Firefighters trying to put out fires
lit by criminals get shot at in the process ! Time to call in Federal troops to protect Life and property in Ferguson.

I am curious from our law enforcement members if a stun gun/taser would bring down a 6'4" 280 pound man?

No doubt this young man was looking for trouble but I am not sure if shooting him dead was the only recourse for a well trained police officer.

If you listen to what the police officer said you would see that he didn't have much choice. In today's America with all the scum running around no policeman should ever be out alone. Those looters and troublemakers,I wont even call them protesters could give a **** about Brown. It's just an excuse to go on the rampage.

True statements, I also finally saw the photos of the police officer's face and the brusing/bone movement? Anyhow, looks like he took a Mike Tyson type punch and not once but twice. I heard the police officer's testimony that he feared for his life and if he took a third punch, he was thinking he was a goner. I read a lot of what was released by the Grand Jury, I think the facts speak for themselves, unfortunately, they are not a good story or seller for our Press. What is occurring now is just ludicrous and hard to wrap your head around. I just do not understand how any reasonable person could advocate on behalf of a criminal and on the facts that are pretty darn clear. Unbelievable.

RANT ON; So tonight as a major storm roars into Massachusetts and people are scrambling onto the roads to get to where their holiday plans are taking them, we get 2,00 knuckleheads marching the streets of Boston in protest to the Ferguson decision, trying to get onto our major roadways. These are mostly moron college students who come from out of state and invade Boston every Fall and leave every Spring. Do us all a favor and leave now and don't come back; what's the matter, no colleges in Podunk or wherever you clownshoes live? What a pack of *********........RANT OFF.

Good luck to the citizens of Ferguson in trying to attract businesses to their neighbourhood. They have achieved world wide infamy for their poor behaviour.

It is one thing to protest against a decision they consider an injustice. However once you start setting fire to buildings, looting your local businesses and firing shots at firemen etc then you have lost all sympathy and condemned your area to a bad reputation forever.

Situation not helped by the fact some witnesses were giving evidence that contradicted factual forensic / autopsy results. I guess they had an agenda which did not involve actual justice.

I saw comments made in an ABC radio interview here by an American called Rosa Clemente. Truly outrageous viewpoint and unfortunately our Govt run radio did not even question Clemente's defence of what was happening in Ferguson.

You hear this line line from politicians and the like in regards to the shooting incident. "We can learn from this, move ahead and make changes, blah, blah, blah" What anyone can learn from this is that if you commit a strongarm robbery, asssault a police office attempting to effect an arrest and attempt to take the officers gun, you will be shot and killed! That will not change.
As a police officer for 40 years I can say with absolute certaincy, that if the suspect Michael Brown would have been white, black, eskimo, you name it, the results of his actions would have been the same.

Not being a smart***, but the one thing I do know is that the man with the badge and gun is ALWAYS right. Even when he may be wrong, he is right. One can always discuss the details in court. That is what the legal system and lawyers are for. Fight the man with the badge and gun on the street and you will lose, big time. A tragedy results from this kind of stupidity all the time. Why is common sense always the road less taken? I will never understand the mindset that wants to fight out the dispute in the street instead of the court. -- Al

I understand it. A liberal media selectively presents bias in the street with little accountability. Court Rooms are hampered by actual evidence.

Ah yes, that pesky evidence thing. Truth and justice, the bane of the terminally stupid. -- Al

Gentle Friends,

The incident, the recent Grand Jury decision, and the event in Ferguson are very emotionally laden and, of course, are of interest to all of us. But, let me remind you that political discussions are not allowed on the forum and this discussion clearly contains expressions of political opinion. Please exercise caution in what you say and how you say it. Otherwise, a meaningful discussion may be terminated.

Thanks for your understanding.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Then just when things may be calming down a bit nothing like stirring the pot. Unforgiveable and
no liability. Well maybe an apology at the bottom of page 30.

"The New York Times, whether consciously or not, has just endangered Darren Wilson’s life.

With tensions running high in Ferguson over the lack of an indictment for Wilson’s killing of Michael Brown, the paper has published the officer’s approximate address -- the street and town where he lives with his new wife, who also is named.

Given the racial animosity unleashed by Brown’s death, given the rioting and the looting and the stores that were set afire, how can a news organization make it easier for some crazy zealot to track down Wilson?"
