Just a reminder, as I know there are a few Rescue Me fans out there. New season starts Tuesday 6-29.
Just watched last season on DVD and it ended with Tommy shot by Teddy, lying on the floor waiting to bleed to death.
Just hope this finale season we see less of the two women and more firehouse stuff!

I second that emotion! Enough of the psycho broads. More firefighting and such. -- Al

Finale Season will be Summer 2011. Dennis is only showing 1/2 of the 19 episodes they have been filming this summer and the other 1/2 next year to coincide with the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. Maura Tierney's character will not be seen again until the 2011 season.

Well what do you think? It can only get better, pretty lame season opener.
What ever happened to the show being funny?

I spent about half an hour trying to recall the last season to orient myself. They should have re-run season 5 prior to the premier. Wasn't too impressed but didn't think it was awful, either. Just a little blah. Tommy is looking like he was rode hard and put up wet. Booze and gunshot wounds will do that to you, I guess, plus having the job he does, plus having all those psycho broads to deal with. Me thinks Lenny shot the wrong person. -- Al

I am a firefighter..... some of the ladies in the park (where I take my kids) always blush when they talk about that show. I never bring it up-they do. funny stuff!

You know I thought the same thing myself about Leary. He is looking his age.
Wonder how Teddy got out of shooting Tommy? In the begining they said lucky the cop that handled it knew Tommys deceased brother, but you don,t just shoot someone and then simply write it off!
It will be a long season if Tommy stops drinking.

This is it right. The final season. I think it was a good idea to end it now. The comedy is almost non existant and the story line is repetitive. Same old thing, tommy drinking, tommy not drinking, tommy drinking. Its getting old. Oh and the teddy seen reminds like somerthing I would see out of the godfather. Its a far cry from the brilliance of season one.

Some things just get old. I even forgot to watch it the last two weeks

Missed last nights episode but unless it was a big improvement over the earlier episodes this season, I probably didn't miss much. Looking like the idea well has run dry. I think this firehouse full of doofi may have hit the wall. Still time to prove me wrong, though. Kick it up a notch, Dennis! -- Al

Last night's show hit a new low--Tommy and daughter Colleen drinking themselves to oblivion. The Gavin story of decline and fall goes on forever.:(

If it weren't for white Sean and Mike, I don't know if I would watch it any more. Those two guys are the best!
Gary

Maybe an fire axe fight in a chemical fire as in Back Draft? Real firefighters loved that one they tell me. Rescue Me is a good lead in to Louis.

Yeah, I always loved a good fight in the middle of an interior attack. Saw more than one tussle over who would be nozzleman. -- Al

Hmmm no comments....I guess no one watched the show last week.
Yeah, me too:rolleyes:

Caught the repeat. Shouldn't have bothered. I have gotten very tired of all this total disfunction. Would buy into some but not this amount episode after episode. Now the guys are punching each other out on the street, in public? Can you say unemployment office? Had enough with the drinking, too. Someone needs to refocus this show. -- Al

This weeks show (8-17-10) was the first episode this season that I actually enjoyed. Had a lot more firehouse interplay than the others. Also liked the scene in the Chief's office even if a bit over the top. I think there are only 2 episodes left in this season (total of 7?). It was a long wait for such a short season. -- Al

I agree Al. The last 2 episodes are 9 and 10. It's too bad they split the 21 episodes over 2 yrs but Dennis wanted the final season to be 2011.

I know this is just a show but I find it hard to believe a lower ranking officer could talk to a superior like that and not get suspended on the spot.
I know on the police department that certainly wouldn't fly.
But I agree when they are in the firehouse it,s still funny.
