Only if you have them already, I've got half of them and they are some of my favourites.

Jeff

Jeff,
I agree, they are some fabulous looking figures. I've got 5 down, 3 to go. I'm not convinced by the NCO and officer though. The other 6 are great action poses, but the other 2 don't fit in as nicely.

I am going to have to play catch up on the KGL guys - that set was one I didnt get to - before I made my hard right turn into the WWII Stuff

- thanks alot to Rob pulling me into this period

You've sold your soul to the WW2 Devil Ron:D!

Jeff,
You're right! For some reason I'd never pictured him doing that. It's only when seeing your photo, that all becomes clear! :)
Cheers,

Did the NCO's of KGL wear red or did the officers wear red??

I mean it all turns out red when my French Dragoons get done with them - but - before that were there Red Uniforms in their ranks??

LOL:D

Got to say I'm not 100% sure. The cover of the Osprey book covering the KGL shows what appears to be a KGL Officer in green, so I would guess so, but only a guess.

Ron.

Do you mean the Riflemen or the Line Infantry? The Rifles are as is and the Line Regts wore a very similar uniform as the regular British. This is the Osprey book cover.

Btw congratulations on your wedding.

Thanks - it was great.

But with the Riflemen could you use Red Officers ?? Or the NCO Flag figure?

This is the one I was looking at.

It would have been nice if Andy could have done some Colors for those KGL guys - understanding that they were forward units - still I love British Colors. :D

Some great pose variations for the 95th rifles would be a guy lying on his back sharp-shooting with the rifle balanced on his feet, another lying on his stomach shooting by balancing the rifle on his hat, and a third hammering the ball into the muzzle.

An interesting book on this topic, for those interested, is "RIFLEMEN: Elite Soldiers of the War Against Napoleon" by Philipp Elliot-Wright.
It explains all the tactics, uniforms, and relates stories about the 60th, 95th and the KGL.

I would prefer 60th rifles to 95th--I think the red facings look cooler.

About KGL riflemen wearing green or red--I recall reading that at Waterloo, only 1 in 10 KGL riflemen had the green coat that they were supposed to have. The rest had redcoats.
I am not sure; I'll check up on it in the afore-mentioned book.

The light infantry of the kings german legion wore green and had baker riffles the rest of the troops wore red uniforms and looked like british troops as they were supplied by britain with their equiptment and uniforms.

The artillary and cavalry of the german legion also looked like thier british counterparts also. You can pretty much just repaint the facings on british troops and you,ve got yourself german legion troops.

I was under the impression that some KGL riflemen had redcoats due to short supply of green. I don't know--I 'll check if ever I have time.
