I wanted to post a little something about my Recent Germany Trip -

I went to Nurmberg and saw the German Historical Documentation Center - which describes the Rise of Nazi Party. Wow what a place.

I also had the chance to stand where Hitler stood in the Old Nurmberg Parade Grounds and look out on the HUGE fields below - really impressive, what a rush.

Anyway thought you guys would be interested.

I was there a couple of years ago and had the same feeling as you, especially standing at the podium where Hitler spoke. What I found disconcerting was how the parade grounds are falling into disrepair. Although it's not good history, I think it's something worth preserving.

I thought that museum was one of the most impressive I've ever seen. I spent several hours there.

Actually, Kirsten and I went to Nurmberg for the day. We took the ICE train at 8 AM from Munich and came back at 10 PM that night. When I go to Munich - I stay at the Eden Wolff Hotel across from the Hauptbahnhof - its very nice and convenant.

We had a great time going to the Christmas Market for the first time there in Nurmberg. Really big and larger than Munich's.

I was taken back that the structures at the old parade grounds were even still there - I mean the way the German Government treats that period of history - you would think that all those steps and building would be rumble. Really interesting to see first hand - it sure must have been something to have all the Flags Flying and Men in huge colums at attention before you !

Kirsten asked me when I was standing at the Hitler podium "What are you thinking?" I said looking out on the parade grounds .... If I had 100,000 Soldiers at attention before me here - I would invade Poland too !!

Unfortunately, When Kirsten and I were there at the parade Grounds it was late afternoon and getting dark - so photos no - but I do have some of the city and I will try to post.

Did you see the toy museum? It is only a few blocks from the Christkindlemarkt.

Really old toy soldiers and other toys there. It has three levels. The soldiers go all the way back to the beginning of European toy soldier production.
