This is a question for our resident uniformology buffs out there. Thought crossed my mind recently that the Napoleonic RHA figures by K&C may be quite similarly attired and equipped as would have been the case some 40 years later in the Crimea, and thus may work reasonably well for display in a Crimean War setting. What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
MD

Dave,

The headdress had changed by then into a more Hussar type.

Sorry, forgot to add a photo, this is the Frontline Figures version. Quite a lot different.

I think you're right, in the Napoleonic Wars, didn't the RHA wear a modified jockey cap, with a bill and a bearskin comb? Later they adopted the busby with colpack.

Prost!

Brad,

Do you mean a Light Dragoon Helmet? These are the K&C Napoleonic set from my collection.

Ah, yes, that's it! I remembered that from my old Airfix 1/72 RHA. Wasn't that adapted from the Tarleton helmet from the Revolutionary War? Similar, in any case.

Prost!
