Just heard on the lunchtime news that Richard Todd veteran of Pegasus Bridge and star of the Dambusters and Longest Day films has passed away at the age of 90.

To me he was one of those endearing British heroes off and on screen, not only did he act it but he did it in real life too.

He made a very good Robin Hood too, in the Disney movie: Robin Hood and His Merrie Men....

Richard Todd dies at 90

I'm really sad to report that World War II Veteran and actor Richard Todd died at 90 .I remember him certainly for the Dambusters and The Longest Day in which he played Major John Howard..actually Todd fought as Captain at Pegasus bridge coming as a reinforcement to the beleaguered paras."Hold Until Relieved"..finally you are relieved. My personal goodbye to a true hero.

Yes I was very sad to hear that today, very good actor. As well as all the War films we love he was very good in Agatha Christie's Miss Marple Radio series and other stuff such as Midsomer Murders.

As well as a good actor he also served this country and fought at Pegasus Bridge on 6th 1944.

RIP
