I love the fact that the new TG WWII figures are wearing an array of different uniform pieces. THIS WAS REALITY.
We all know the famous pictures taken of Wittmann in his black tanksuit. These were only taken for propaganda reasons in the fatherland. REALITY WAS SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT; I add some proof just to show how the commanders of SS-Panzer-Abteilung 101 really looked in their
uniforms.

Well known Michael Wittmann picture
here we see the battalion's senoir officers. SS Untersturmführer Iriohn is wearing a leather jacket handed down from the Kriegsmarine, drill trousers and the Schirmmütze. SS- Strumbahnführer von Westernhagen, the battalion commander is wearing the 1943 camouflage tunic and the 1940 officer's black cap.SS-Obersturmführer Rass is wearing a motorcyclist's raincoat. The officer on the right is unidentified.
This picture also shows the shortage of uniforms available. The man looking towards the camera is Unterscharführer Otto Blase, tankcommander with the 3rd comp.
