Dennis Farina died yesterday at age 69. He was one of my favorite actors with his tough guy image. Really loved him in 'Crime Story' as Lt. Mike Torello chasing gangster Ray Luca all over Chicago and Las Vegas. A very good show that didn't get it's due. Farina was also great as a Ray 'Bones' Barboni in the hysterical "Get Shorty". He was good in everything he did, which also included spots in "Saving Private Ryan" and 2 seasons on "Law and Order". RIP. -- Al

awww...what a loss...one of my "favorite bad guys" too...

whatever happened to Luck on HBO...

I loved that show

Just saw that on the news. Good actor, maybe pulled some of that cop background for his characters. He kept Law and Order on track when he stepped in. Chris

Great actor, he will be missed. I always loved him in his breif scene in Saving Private Ryan.

He was a great actor and I loved him in Get Shorty. He did a most excellent variation on that role in the much under rated Big Trouble (2002). He has some classic lines as New York hitman Henry Desalvo, a bit less than happy to be doing a job in Miami, like the following exchange:

Henry Desalvo: I got a great New York Strip over there that cost me $27 in change and it tastes like I'm eating a cigar butt. Now please put out your cigars.

Bruce: There's no rule against smoking here.

Henry Desalvo: This isn't about rules, it's about manners. Now there's no rule that says that I cant come over here and fart on your entree. But I don't do it. Why? Because it's not good manners. Now I'm asking you please - put out your cigars.

Bruce: [blows smoke in Henry's face] No.

[Henry breaks his middle and index fingers]

Bruce: I hope you realize you've just committed assault.

Henry Desalvo: I know. There was a time when you actually had to hit somebody.
