Republic or Imperial Romans would be my choice. Hastings would be interesting too. There isn't much affordable, medieval, 54mm ranges out there. Don't know why?
I always liked the English Civil War subject, but that one too is pretty scarce. I did see someone selling this range a number of years ago when I first started to attend the OTSN. He was a dealer from Canada. I think it was produced in gloss or a mix of gloss and matte and he told me at the time that they were made in England. I can't remember the manufacturer. It looked like a hybrid sculpting style with very decorative bases. I wish I had bought some back then. They looked really neat!
