Dear Tom:
Thanks for the data on the size of your great new diorama's display area. Certainly a fairly large area at about 36 x 17 inches! Well done!
"Iron Brigade" / Gary
No worries Gary, it's really a miniature version of Wayne WA's giant sand pit...^&grin
Desert Dios are always spectacular, than again maybe it is the skill of the builder, as in this case. Great work Tom.
Although far from the level skill of most of you folks, if you put an object between the dio base material and the backdrop it tends to make color or texture variations less noticeable. For a woodland scene or a meadow, a stone wall works great, but for a desert scene I don’t know what would work well? -- Larry
Thanks Larry and yeah, it's hard to blend the base material into a desert backdrop. Depending on the type of desert backdrop your using (colour, type of terrain etc), i think it's possible to blend the two together, so long as you get the right materials and backdrop.
