The idea of "Strictly Limited" editions doesn't bother me at all even though as a new collector there are retired or limited edition items I can never hope to own because of cost. But that's okay, there's plenty of great stuff still avaiable right now and looks like penty more to come. I think that its nice to have limited editions come out every so often that set themselves apart from the rest and I've found that any collector that builds a good relationship with a dealer or several dealers, they're going to make sure you're aware of the upcoming models and ask if you'd like to reserve one. I don't however agree with the practice of buying several models for resale and leaving that many less available for "little" guy. If you buy two or even three because you really love the piece, or maybe to trade for something you don't have, fine, but if you're buying them by the case to sell on ebay then I think Michael makes a valid point.

I agree with you Fred,

I buy for myself and maybe an extra set to barter with other collectors and dealers. If you really want to make speculate for profit, buy real estate the return on investment is higher, you'll save on storage space and you'll have more dollars to buy what else....toy soldiers...LOL.

Who do we think is buying items by the case for resale? I only know of one

Forum member that said he bought 8 winter tigers.....and he was not happy

with that decision. With the number of items being released it would be almost

impossible to put cases of items away.

Not accusing anyone, just stating an opinion. And no one said anything about putting cases of every item released away, I believe it was "a case" of limited editions., i.e. 8 winter tigers! But being new to the hobby, I bow to your superior wisdom.:p
